because...they are valid excuses. we don't have a source of funding...esp one that reaches into the hundreds of millions.

and we already have evidence of large organizations deceiving us

What I'm saying is that we have never had a flat map that had no distortions. Also, you can calculate country sizes quite easily, might just take some time.

Looking smaller-scale, mapping how far away cities are from each other, towns, rivers, ect. I'll do it myself when i have time.
But unless you think they even lie about how far apart cities are no one can truly hide the size of a country

And I'm quite sure people would notice if they lied about how far cities were away from one another
