I have never seen one rotate. But I'm open to the possibility.
seems you are hedging
youre mainstream or not
I try to remain unbiased and open to all possibilities as long as there's sufficient evidence.
It's why I have the Questioning role. I think it's a good thing to question everything.
no thnking for yourself
so are we in a spinning galaxy?
also, you'd think by now, in 2019, that they'd have invented a tool that could repeatedly measure the earth's rotation/'flying through space' supposed actual movements
Personally? I think we're in a spinning galaxy. Do I have the means to prove it? No. I'm taking the word of mainstream science on it.
and Metallica's top 3 points have already been shown to be debunked, at least you have a more pertinent & thought provoking observation .. but still it doesn't necessarily suddenly only equal 'globe' ,, surely there could be other alternatives that haven't yet been explored? or are you not entertaining such possibilities that there could be another explanation? @Drewski4343
Hey...
Hello Metallica!
which top 3 points
what are they and how are they debunked, is it in this chat somewhere up
no it's been done over and over again , if they weren't debunked there'd be no flat earthers lol

is far from mainstream
if its science its proven
*If someone doesn't value evidence, what evidence are you going to provide to prove that they should value it? If someone doesn’t value logic, what logical argument could you provide to show the importance of logic?*
cant you prove it the same way science has
blind faith in mainstream science
is your argument that you have no reason to disbelieve mainstream science?
@carlito Oh, yes, and I've looked through the counters for this and there is nothing I've seen that can accurately debunk this observation. Basically the only explanations are speculations. Like *maybe* the sky is liquid and moving in different directions? It's a lesser argument for sure. And combine it with other observations like the south celestial pole (and various other constellations) being observed from all southern hemi vantage points and it makes the arguement even stronger.
@chad46 Science doesn't deal in proofs. Theories and ideas can always change.
So, I'm open to possibilities. If and when GR is dethroned for a theory of everything, I'll be open to that too.
your really going with science doesnt prove things?
This can't be the first you've heard this.
i will think about this,, and get back to you.. @Drewski4343 im still waiting for your explanation of the 2tonne floating clouds though remember that ?!
ok so nothing can be proven? is this some kind of flexible reality?
i've heard of it but also haven't been satisfied with answers , but it's possible we'll never have all the answers right?
@carlito haha vaguely! I still don't know enough about that to debate it, I'll have to do some reading.
you're right! we might never know everything
and probably won't
@chad46 Scientific theories are kind of the "final" stage. It's a working system that describes something, but if it's *disproven* or a better system comes along, it will adapt to the new theory.
our capacity to find real answers is also severely limited thanks to the fact that we are a small newish community with limited resources in comparison to what the NASA's & UN's of the world have access to and deliberately restrict us from
yup, totally understandable. but you guys have a quite a few dedicated researchers out there doing experiments, which is exceptional.
so has it been proven scientifically that we live on a spinning ball?@Drewski4343
your answer must be no
I'd say no, it hasn't been scientifically proven. But the evidence, in my opinion, supports it. Can new evidence emerge that shows it's a not a globe? Certainly.
when you say you can view the constellations in the south, do all see the same constellations at the same angles in the sky? iow, do they all see exactly the same image when looking up, or are the constellations in present but in different parts of the sky depending on where you are in the South
the sun is claimed to be a ball of gas/plasma, this isnt proven either
