oh, chad, I specifically meant the rotation of the sky from our vantage point.

2019-12-19 15:20:40 UTC

sorry for the confusion

2019-12-19 15:20:45 UTC

so what are macro scales?

2019-12-19 15:21:01 UTC

is that not rotation of the sky

2019-12-19 15:21:02 UTC

rotations of galaxies like Z mentioned

2019-12-19 15:21:21 UTC

galaxies are in the sky

2019-12-19 15:21:53 UTC

yes, but we can't really SEE them rotating from our vantage point. We can see them "move" through the sky as the earth rotates, but that's not the same thing

2019-12-19 15:22:10 UTC

by rotations of galaxies, I mean their spiral rotations.

2019-12-19 15:22:19 UTC

not their traversal through our night sky.

2019-12-19 15:22:58 UTC

something you'd need Hubble for haha

2019-12-19 15:23:11 UTC

so do you think galaxies rotate?

2019-12-19 15:23:38 UTC

I have never seen one rotate. But I'm open to the possibility.

2019-12-19 15:23:54 UTC

seems you are hedging

2019-12-19 15:24:06 UTC

youre mainstream or not

2019-12-19 15:24:52 UTC

I try to remain unbiased and open to all possibilities as long as there's sufficient evidence.

2019-12-19 15:26:30 UTC

It's why I have the Questioning role. I think it's a good thing to question everything.

2019-12-19 15:27:47 UTC

no thnking for yourself

2019-12-19 15:28:26 UTC

so are we in a spinning galaxy?

2019-12-19 15:30:06 UTC

also, you'd think by now, in 2019, that they'd have invented a tool that could repeatedly measure the earth's rotation/'flying through space' supposed actual movements

2019-12-19 15:31:37 UTC

Personally? I think we're in a spinning galaxy. Do I have the means to prove it? No. I'm taking the word of mainstream science on it.

2019-12-19 15:33:16 UTC

and Metallica's top 3 points have already been shown to be debunked, at least you have a more pertinent & thought provoking observation .. but still it doesn't necessarily suddenly only equal 'globe' ,, surely there could be other alternatives that haven't yet been explored? or are you not entertaining such possibilities that there could be another explanation? @Drewski4343

2019-12-19 15:33:27 UTC

Hey...

2019-12-19 15:34:15 UTC

Hello Metallica!

2019-12-19 15:34:31 UTC

which top 3 points

2019-12-19 15:34:55 UTC

what are they and how are they debunked, is it in this chat somewhere up

2019-12-19 15:35:33 UTC

no it's been done over and over again , if they weren't debunked there'd be no flat earthers lol

2019-12-19 15:35:48 UTC

15:31] ❄️Holly Jolly Drewski❄️: Personally? I think we're in a spinning galaxy. Do I have the means to prove it? No. I'm taking the word of mainstream science on it.

2019-12-19 15:35:54 UTC

is far from mainstream

2019-12-19 15:36:15 UTC

if its science its proven

2019-12-19 15:36:31 UTC

*If someone doesn't value evidence, what evidence are you going to provide to prove that they should value it? If someone doesn’t value logic, what logical argument could you provide to show the importance of logic?*

2019-12-19 15:36:37 UTC

cant you prove it the same way science has

2019-12-19 15:37:55 UTC

or do you have blind faith?

2019-12-19 15:39:32 UTC

blind faith in mainstream science

2019-12-19 15:39:47 UTC

is your argument that you have no reason to disbelieve mainstream science?

2019-12-19 15:40:41 UTC

@carlito Oh, yes, and I've looked through the counters for this and there is nothing I've seen that can accurately debunk this observation. Basically the only explanations are speculations. Like *maybe* the sky is liquid and moving in different directions? It's a lesser argument for sure. And combine it with other observations like the south celestial pole (and various other constellations) being observed from all southern hemi vantage points and it makes the arguement even stronger.
@chad46 Science doesn't deal in proofs. Theories and ideas can always change.

2019-12-19 15:42:00 UTC

So, I'm open to possibilities. If and when GR is dethroned for a theory of everything, I'll be open to that too.

2019-12-19 15:42:32 UTC

your really going with science doesnt prove things?

2019-12-19 15:43:24 UTC

This can't be the first you've heard this.

2019-12-19 15:43:34 UTC

i will think about this,, and get back to you.. @Drewski4343 im still waiting for your explanation of the 2tonne floating clouds though remember that ?!

2019-12-19 15:44:07 UTC

ok so nothing can be proven? is this some kind of flexible reality?

2019-12-19 15:44:50 UTC

i've heard of it but also haven't been satisfied with answers , but it's possible we'll never have all the answers right?
