cant you prove it the same way science has

2019-12-19 15:37:55 UTC

or do you have blind faith?

2019-12-19 15:39:32 UTC

blind faith in mainstream science

2019-12-19 15:39:47 UTC

is your argument that you have no reason to disbelieve mainstream science?

2019-12-19 15:40:41 UTC

@carlito Oh, yes, and I've looked through the counters for this and there is nothing I've seen that can accurately debunk this observation. Basically the only explanations are speculations. Like *maybe* the sky is liquid and moving in different directions? It's a lesser argument for sure. And combine it with other observations like the south celestial pole (and various other constellations) being observed from all southern hemi vantage points and it makes the arguement even stronger.
@chad46 Science doesn't deal in proofs. Theories and ideas can always change.

2019-12-19 15:42:00 UTC

So, I'm open to possibilities. If and when GR is dethroned for a theory of everything, I'll be open to that too.

2019-12-19 15:42:32 UTC

your really going with science doesnt prove things?

2019-12-19 15:43:24 UTC

This can't be the first you've heard this.

2019-12-19 15:43:34 UTC

i will think about this,, and get back to you.. @Drewski4343 im still waiting for your explanation of the 2tonne floating clouds though remember that ?!

2019-12-19 15:44:07 UTC

ok so nothing can be proven? is this some kind of flexible reality?

2019-12-19 15:44:50 UTC

i've heard of it but also haven't been satisfied with answers , but it's possible we'll never have all the answers right?

2019-12-19 15:44:54 UTC

@carlito haha vaguely! I still don't know enough about that to debate it, I'll have to do some reading.

2019-12-19 15:45:29 UTC

you're right! we might never know everything

2019-12-19 15:45:43 UTC

and probably won't

2019-12-19 15:47:02 UTC

@chad46 Scientific theories are kind of the "final" stage. It's a working system that describes something, but if it's *disproven* or a better system comes along, it will adapt to the new theory.

2019-12-19 15:47:02 UTC

our capacity to find real answers is also severely limited thanks to the fact that we are a small newish community with limited resources in comparison to what the NASA's & UN's of the world have access to and deliberately restrict us from

2019-12-19 15:48:19 UTC

yup, totally understandable. but you guys have a quite a few dedicated researchers out there doing experiments, which is exceptional.

2019-12-19 15:49:04 UTC

so has it been proven scientifically that we live on a spinning ball?@Drewski4343

2019-12-19 15:49:16 UTC

your answer must be no

2019-12-19 15:50:49 UTC

I'd say no, it hasn't been scientifically proven. But the evidence, in my opinion, supports it. Can new evidence emerge that shows it's a not a globe? Certainly.

2019-12-19 15:52:18 UTC

when you say you can view the constellations in the south, do all see the same constellations at the same angles in the sky? iow, do they all see exactly the same image when looking up, or are the constellations in present but in different parts of the sky depending on where you are in the South

2019-12-19 15:54:48 UTC

the sun is claimed to be a ball of gas/plasma, this isnt proven either

2019-12-19 15:55:11 UTC

Depending on where you're looking from, the constellations themselves will be roughly the same location in the sky, but at a different rotation around the south celestial pole compared to a different southern continent.
...I don't know if I explained that well, I'll try to find a pic.

2019-12-19 15:55:13 UTC

these things are taught as fact, but you are saying this is not so

2019-12-19 15:56:03 UTC

we are taught the universe is expanding, another false teaching

2019-12-19 15:56:14 UTC

so one moves anticlockwise, the other clockwise oh okay

2019-12-19 15:56:41 UTC

is that what you mean about 'rotating different'

2019-12-19 15:59:07 UTC

yes, exactly.

2019-12-19 15:59:57 UTC

and this happens throughout the year okay , yeah, i get you

2019-12-19 16:02:10 UTC

there is a theory that the sky contains mirrors or is a mirror-like substance with mirror like properties

2019-12-19 16:02:33 UTC

Hello hello.

2019-12-19 16:02:52 UTC

I would like to talk about flat earth.

2019-12-19 16:03:13 UTC

they tried to prove it by taking a picture of the reflection of stars off a lake , not sure if i understood it correctly though

2019-12-19 16:05:16 UTC

start talking

2019-12-19 16:05:35 UTC

What's some evidence for the flat earth?

2019-12-19 16:05:44 UTC

we see too far

2019-12-19 16:05:56 UTC

I've seen a good bit last time I was here but I tried to explain the best I could to the moderator at the time.

2019-12-19 16:06:08 UTC

We see too far? How so?

2019-12-19 16:06:37 UTC

Here's a quick and dirty version of what I meant about how the sky would appear on different points in the southern hemi. in South Africa, it might appear like the image on the left and in Australia, like the image on the right. I made this super

2019-12-19 16:06:54 UTC

Oh, am I ruining a current conversation?

2019-12-19 16:06:58 UTC

super quick, so it's not accurate or anything lol
