mine is like 2 years old and has been upgraded twice
lol
@Tewdrig oh lol no I know how to.i just hate the system it's bad I built my mediocre pc
i7 920, it refuses to die.
ive changed gpu 3 times though
i would get a new cpu in 2019
get a zen 2 based system
3600x
I'm running my monitors and stuff all off a laptop (some Acer, 12gigs ram, ssd's and i5 3.4 ghz I think
I do have an awful lot of rgb lamps in my room
@Dead old i7 chips that have 4 core 8 threads are still good value bc they overclock well
but they are open to spectre and meltdown
which can cause up to 10% performance loss
and maybe even more
Yeah true
hmm, mine run at 40-50c at load after i changed my cooler. haven't noticed any performance loss tbh
thats why i went with ryzen
I like Rysen bc I do other shit
Like try and act smart
im gonna do moddeling and shit next year so its worth it
and when im rendering it i can save some time
sticking with my i7
still trying to figure out a case where i would actually need a modern pc for data processing... pretty hard.
Found am undamaged 23" apple cinema display in a thrift shop for €15. Lucky me<:markus:437127777247035393>
all I look at really these days is GPU's and I'm already on a 1080TI so there's no point
Good for editing
2080's can go jump off a cliff
butbut ray tracing
@Dead the i7 you have would be considered a bottleneck but if you got an old xeon that has 6 cores you might be fine for a while
Who says it fake
too expensive sandy
In fairness I have a 2070
Main reason I need q new cpu it's being molested by my gpu
hey if you're building new or not in a high end 10 series position, the 20's are worth looking at for sure
70's especially I guess for bang/buck ratio
but aye just doesn't make sense with my rig
I'm Dutch we've got good thrift shops with people working there that don't know worth of electronics okay
