sounds ideal

2019-12-28 21:52:30 UTC

Basically this will ruin the economy

2019-12-28 21:52:42 UTC

To raise wages you need to change the market

2019-12-28 21:52:42 UTC

that's what we love to see

2019-12-28 21:52:52 UTC

Not make blank demands

2019-12-28 21:53:28 UTC

to be fair the cost of living has gone up while wages have stagnated, so I'm fine with higher wages

2019-12-28 21:53:41 UTC

but if the economy does eat shit and go upside down I will eat my words

2019-12-28 21:54:12 UTC

Wages are a symptom not a cause

2019-12-28 21:54:30 UTC

You can support increase in min wage but only from an accelerationist perspective

2019-12-28 21:54:59 UTC

no, I just reckon billionaires shouldn't exist

2019-12-28 22:04:39 UTC

@Shalopy My state in the Midwest has already passed a law that adjusts the minimum wage by inflation starting in 2018 and it is at $9.45 I think. It will have risen by $12 by 2022. This bad because more jobs now will ask for experience even at the low skilled entry level jobs

2019-12-28 22:04:50 UTC

Or it was never easy to begin with?

2019-12-28 22:06:17 UTC

My sister and I had already struggled finding part time jobs after dozens of applications possibly due to us being adults by the time we have gotten them.

2019-12-28 22:18:34 UTC

As a business owner

2019-12-28 22:18:41 UTC

We are gonna get fucked lol

2019-12-28 22:19:38 UTC

@Harrison Good thing we aren’t increasing the rate of currency production in line with the minimum wage increase.

2019-12-28 22:19:52 UTC

@Asdrubal You’ll be fine.

2019-12-28 22:19:58 UTC

Nah I wont

2019-12-28 22:20:06 UTC

What’s your profit margin?

2019-12-28 22:20:22 UTC

I just hate that when I go out to buy coffee it'll be a dollar or two more

2019-12-28 22:20:37 UTC

Yeah, that’s what I though Asdru.

2019-12-28 22:21:02 UTC

I pay my contractors/designers above minimum wage

2019-12-28 22:21:06 UTC

@Harrison More likely pennies on the dollar. Wage is only a fraction of what is calculated into business expenses.

2019-12-28 22:21:15 UTC

@Asdrubal ***then you will be fine***

2019-12-28 22:21:26 UTC

*I'm talking about currently*

2019-12-28 22:21:35 UTC

Which is like 9 dollars

2019-12-28 22:21:35 UTC

And keep in mind that I live in a pink state so there must have been Republicans that supported the law.

2019-12-28 22:21:48 UTC

Again, what’s your profit margin? @Asdrubal

2019-12-28 22:22:17 UTC

*nice try fed*

2019-12-28 22:22:46 UTC

Does raising the minimum wage really effect the price of goods? I am getting mental gymnastics from leftists that support raising the minimum wage especially from people that chose to get part time jobs.

2019-12-28 22:22:47 UTC

Ffs. You just don’t want to say it because it will more than absorb the wage increase.

2019-12-28 22:23:15 UTC

No I've just made it clear I dont pay taxes

2019-12-28 22:23:22 UTC

@Louis XIV (aka 1685Violin) It probably will, but not to scale with the wage increase.

2019-12-28 22:23:47 UTC

@Asdrubal if it’s an illegal business you can just keep paying them under minimum wage then...

2019-12-28 22:24:01 UTC

I don't wanna hire illegals

2019-12-28 22:24:16 UTC

@Asdrubal you could hire teenagers

2019-12-28 22:24:26 UTC

Guess you can’t be the owner of your own business then.

2019-12-28 22:27:21 UTC

Yep, business owners want cheap labor and if they have high profit margins and are forced to raise the minimum wage, they'll just pass the costs to the customer while they cut hours and benefits. All the while lobby for more tax cuts so they could use the money to lobby for more laws to squash competition that do treat and pay workers fairly.

2019-12-28 22:28:12 UTC

@Louis XIV (aka 1685Violin) Big business =/= small business

2019-12-28 22:28:40 UTC

Small businesses dont get tax breaks
