Hello! Has anyone read "The Geography of Thought" by Richard E. Nisbett before?
What is it about?

**-** Stoicism. Should men follow it, what does it entail, what is it's history?
Scroll up and you'll find all the answers you need.
yeah me and koninos had this topic already
stoicism good
Stoicism ok sometimes
I was thinking about respect recently, and the effects of respect in the individual's life. And then a more... moral, let's say, issue kicked in. Should we respect people who disrespect us? Or should we go with an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth? Respecting the ones who disrespect you shows a lot of superiority, but is it moral or healthy to do so? What do you think?
If you go off Biblical morality you should respect your enemies
Yes respect your enemies always. Eye for an eye regards justice.
Respect your enemies as you would your friends
If you go with Biblical morality, then it is contradicting itself because, you can't both follow the natural law, or go by with your natural/humane feelings and respect your enemies as you would your friends, since hate and disrespect towards your enemies is something very natural and very humane.
Natural =/= happens in nature
