i.e that Jesus is the messiah

2020-02-07 00:57:07 UTC

No claims can be proven at all?

2020-02-07 00:57:15 UTC

Or literally anything else lol

2020-02-07 00:57:18 UTC

Even minor things?

2020-02-07 00:57:27 UTC

The second coming is not just about him arriving. He arrives all the time. The second coming is an event

2020-02-07 00:57:27 UTC

Like we discovered King Uzziahs grave

2020-02-07 00:57:33 UTC

You misunderstand what the second coming is

2020-02-07 00:57:34 UTC

That's something

2020-02-07 00:58:02 UTC

In the second coming he shows himself to all people as the savior and the Christ

2020-02-07 00:58:28 UTC

It is just labeled the second coming. That doesn't mean that he didn't come before the first coming

2020-02-07 00:58:34 UTC

So what you're saying doesn't make sense does it

2020-02-07 00:58:58 UTC

There are many more than 2 arrivals of Jesus Christ as we well know

2020-02-07 00:59:05 UTC

We don't have anything called the first coming

2020-02-07 01:00:04 UTC

@moira now, you want my personal opinion on the works brought forth by Joseph Smith Jun?
I find the whole thing, highly compelling.
For example, last week I was hanging up in manitou springs, local art Mecca, and I spent the night lounging in the Matè Yerba factory, a quant deli ran by a religious group calling themselves The Twelve Tribes. My friend, Nadiv, works the graveyard shift. I kept to myself in the corner with a copy of Doctrine and Covenants as well as one of those "pocket Bibles" which is New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs tacked on the back.
It really wasn't a busy night so my friend would occasionally drop some scripture references to me. No lie, I am in awe and respect for his skill to know do many biblical verses from memory. Matter of fact, he's probably the only person I know outside the LDS faith who can spit references with such acrument. Point being, everything he said, everything he referenced, harkened back to what I was thumbing though in the D&C . it's as if they nothing short of reaffirm everything each other says. The Bible and the Doctrine and Covenants.

I wish I could tell you more. But alas, I've got to get going for me evening class.
God be with you until we meet again.

@lemiwinks how so, I believe that Jesus has not appeared in human form since he rose to heaven again, yes he may appear through the Holy Spirit, but he never does so in human form.

2020-02-07 01:00:48 UTC

if he just appears in human form again and again then the idea of the Holy Spirit is redundant

2020-02-07 01:02:55 UTC

Well you're welcome to believe that

2020-02-07 01:03:04 UTC

I believe that Jesus is not silent

2020-02-07 01:03:12 UTC

I believe that Jesus is personally involved in his gospel

2020-02-07 01:03:19 UTC

Lux weren't you an atheist like 2 days ago

2020-02-07 01:03:27 UTC

Jesus has always been personally involved

2020-02-07 01:03:33 UTC

Im a agnostic

2020-02-07 01:03:39 UTC

an*

2020-02-07 01:03:42 UTC

ok

2020-02-07 01:04:04 UTC

I respect you saying that you're agnostic

2020-02-07 01:04:21 UTC

So many people pretend to be atheists

2020-02-07 01:04:28 UTC

Those people tend to be very annoying

2020-02-07 01:04:41 UTC

You are interested and having a real discussion

2020-02-07 01:04:50 UTC

That's good

2020-02-07 01:04:54 UTC

i just dont believe that Jesus does appear in the flesh

2020-02-07 01:05:07 UTC

Why not ?

2020-02-07 01:05:43 UTC

because that would go against the prophecies

2020-02-07 01:05:53 UTC

I never said Jesus was distant

2020-02-07 01:06:02 UTC

I just said he appeared through the Holy Spirit

2020-02-07 01:06:18 UTC

Against which prophecy would that go against?

2020-02-07 01:06:40 UTC

I understand why you might believe that but I don't think so. I don't know how often he appears in the flesh. I think most of the time it's just to an individual and for individual purposes I think he does appear in the flash on a regular basis.

2020-02-07 01:06:55 UTC

But when that happens the vast majority of the time people don't go around talking about it because it was in a personal experiences

2020-02-07 01:07:24 UTC

Yes of course the vast majority of the time it is the holy spirit through which he communicates with us

2020-02-07 01:07:43 UTC

I think it would be a very special occasion if you were to appear in person but we can't know how many times he does that.

2020-02-07 01:08:13 UTC

then we can agree to disagree because we have been debating for an hour now and I actually want to do something else

2020-02-07 01:08:20 UTC

I have no idea. It could be once every 10 years or 10 times a day. Beats me ... But there's no reason why he wouldn't do that
