I prefer the sound of a viola though.
Or cello.
I reckon cellists are more susceptible to being the butt of a joke
I inherited a violin. I would rather play cello though. I should probably get good at guitar first.
Basically I wanted to know if natural harmonics exist on violin, like if you were to play one pizzicato, could you get the harmonic tones you would get muting the frets on a bass/guitar etc
And if any violinists actually do that
Like 9th fret natural harmonics on bass are some of my favorite tones.
I'd say you could do that with the violin strings
You can do that
Its prolly more annoying and without amplification would be quiet
Yes you can play natural harmonics on violin.
Oh yeah, not too many electric violins out there heh
They aren't quiet.
Same principle as on a guitar, half the string and you get an octave higher etc.
Huh. Watched some dude doing it on cello just now. Not having fret markers makes that look nightmarish.
Certainly takes some extra skill, alright.
It's just practice.
I want a fretless bass. Love how they sound.
