That only says that they had enough grain and potatoes to survive. They had far less access to meats, sugars, oils, etc. In other words a much less varied diet, which is generally not nearly as healthy as a varied one.

2020-01-20 01:02:48 UTC

Americans had more caloric intake across many different food categories while the USSR relied far more heavily upon just 2.

2020-01-20 01:02:53 UTC

LMAO

2020-01-20 01:03:07 UTC

It says in that reuters report about the Soviet Union that the average American consumes more calories. In fact the only reason the U.S. had a poor diet was because they ate more sugars and oils. Also this was in 1983 after the U.S.S.R had reformed under Krushchev, for much of Soviet history, much of the populace starved

2020-01-20 01:03:12 UTC

Ancap lolbert telling people they have low IQ

2020-01-20 01:03:51 UTC

Potatoes and Grain composed 44% of their diet

2020-01-20 01:03:55 UTC

I dunno about you but a country where you can eat your fill only on grain and potatoes vs one where you can eat basically anything, I wouldn't wanna live in the first one.

2020-01-20 01:03:57 UTC

Americans had the percentage of 26%

2020-01-20 01:04:05 UTC

it was 44% of their diet buddy

2020-01-20 01:04:10 UTC

2020-01-20 01:04:39 UTC

It clearly wasn't if it was more nutritious

2020-01-20 01:04:45 UTC

That is almost HALF of their diet.

2020-01-20 01:04:50 UTC

And?

2020-01-20 01:05:00 UTC

Americans ate that amount by over 1/4

2020-01-20 01:05:06 UTC

Bread and potatoes.

2020-01-20 01:05:17 UTC

Grain is not only bread buddy

2020-01-20 01:05:57 UTC

You eat bread and potatoes for half your diet for decades and see if it's as good for your health as a more varied diet.
