Australian School Terms last about 12 weeks, with two weeks break in between. With the exception of the end of the year, where the break is 6 weeks.

One School Year has 4 Terms.

So it's more time in holidays before Christmas holidays, right?

Kind of. The School Year Ends in mid december, and starts in the end of the following January.

With summer holidays it's a 3 months holiday, so you forget school
