6 large red or yellow onions (about 3 pounds), peeled and thinly sliced root to stem (see How to Slice an Onion), about 10 cups of sliced onions total
4 Tbsp Olive oil
2 Tbsp butter
1 teaspoon of sugar
Salt
2 cloves garlic, minced
8 cups of beef stock, chicken stock, or a combination of the two (traditionally the soup is made with beef stock)
1/2 cup of dry vermouth or dry white wine
2 bay leaves
1 Tbsp (loose) of fresh thyme (can also use a few sprigs of fresh thyme) OR 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme (more to taste)
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 Tbsp brandy (optional)
8 slices French bread or baguette cut 1-inch thick
1 1/2 cups of grated Swiss Gruyere and a sprinkling of Parmesan

2019-01-03 03:37:34 UTC

2019-01-03 03:37:39 UTC

2019-01-03 03:37:44 UTC

2019-01-03 03:37:57 UTC

Whatever recipe you use will be great

2019-01-03 03:38:00 UTC

youre a fucking animal

2019-01-03 03:38:08 UTC

yeah why would u add salt and pepper to soy

2019-01-03 03:38:13 UTC

fucking faggot

2019-01-03 03:38:23 UTC

I think by Madeira they mean red wine from Madeira, which is an island off the west coast of africa, nearish to Europe

2019-01-03 03:38:37 UTC

yah i think you use wine to deglaze the pan

2019-01-03 03:38:40 UTC

probably controlled by Spain now

2019-01-03 03:38:43 UTC

but stock will do that too

2019-01-03 03:39:01 UTC

overall that one is better with the 1/2 cup of white wine

2019-01-03 03:39:17 UTC

but it was Portuguese originally, could still be Portuguese

2019-01-03 03:39:20 UTC

My signature dish is beef pasta, which is literally just mince beef and pasta.
No sauce, No seasoning.

2019-01-03 03:39:21 UTC

What's the recipe for?

2019-01-03 03:39:32 UTC

2019-01-03 03:39:41 UTC

2019-01-03 03:39:45 UTC
