I am just saying they are not synonyms, and take issue with the assertion that "any patriotic people will develop a nationalist state if allowed to do so" because I think that's silly. It's like saying "any socialist will develop a communist state if allowed to do so." Like... no. They're related concepts, that doesn't mean they always have to be with one another.
