have always been one
my parents are agnostic (but they do not know the meaning of agnostic)
claim to be agnostic*
they say they believe in god but dislike religion
they're often quite spiritual or study 'energies'
hmm
whenever I try to debate them they say it's too heavy a topic
my parents typically dont like abstract topics and I like them a lot, so I often don't get to really hear their views and adapt my argument
If you want to talk about that stuff with them, don't come at them too strongly
yeah my parents often get mad that I keep arguing when someone upset
they tend to be more focused on feelings while I am focused on a logical conclusion
anyways so most kids my age get their ideology from their parents
around my age or a little older some strart to rebel and have conflicting view points just for the sake of conflicting view points
Your parents are grappling with their innate spirituality, or desire for higher purpose, without the support that they need from organized religion. I don't blame them for rejecting the churches either, they have become skewed and amoral in the recent decades especially
very well put
I had a friend in high school who I would debate religion with
I couldn't grasp the concept of believing in something that should not exist according to worldly logic
I think the best way to describe it to myself back then would be that one can make a conscious choice to believe in something immaterial in order to accomplish some material end.
like embracing some measured amount of insanity in order to escape the nihilistic pull of pure logic
it's the beginning of the end for Trump
He can't do anything right
He bought loads of people free lunch and they get mad at him
Yet if Obama did it he would be amazing
ok this is bad
LOL
The like to dislike ratio is amazing
@Deleted User that would be similar to how I am now
I guess I am 14 so my ideology will change
whats your ideology
I'm 16 and I changed since 14
Since when I was 14, 2 days before the 2016 election. I support Clinton because everyone at school did.
I used to be a mindless liberal, now i'm conservative.
Im shaking and crying rn
I had no idea what I was talking about.
Republicans just seemed evil to me.
I was conservative then liberal then conservative and now libertarian
What changed you so much?
Studying and ruff
