Uni healthcare is shit

2019-02-09 17:44:10 UTC

not saying you are that

2019-02-09 17:44:11 UTC

It creates excess demand

2019-02-09 17:44:15 UTC

Which equals to shortages

2019-02-09 17:44:17 UTC

I know it’s cheaper than our current system but I don’t know how the government could take on the costs

2019-02-09 17:44:18 UTC

but people on the internet lie about their life everry day

2019-02-09 17:44:25 UTC

Universal healthcare is shit and private is better

2019-02-09 17:44:30 UTC

A full private system with no regulations

2019-02-09 17:44:32 UTC

ya if you can afford it

2019-02-09 17:44:32 UTC

lol

2019-02-09 17:44:34 UTC

No

2019-02-09 17:44:37 UTC

It would be affordable

2019-02-09 17:44:43 UTC

The reason costs are so high is government intervention

2019-02-09 17:44:47 UTC

you realize some people dont have any spare money correct

2019-02-09 17:44:47 UTC

I'm 17, but I work and go to school at the same time and wouldn't consider myself sheltered

2019-02-09 17:44:56 UTC

This is the price indexes

2019-02-09 17:45:04 UTC

Ever since the government started intervening it’s been skyrocketing

2019-02-09 17:45:12 UTC

It's proven that there are companies that are more affordable than ACA

2019-02-09 17:45:13 UTC

Notice how it goes up when Medicare and Medicaid are put into place

2019-02-09 17:45:18 UTC

What would the cost of fully privatized healthcare vs current system and single payer?

2019-02-09 17:45:26 UTC

-In 1925, prescription drug monopolies begun after the federal government started allowing the patenting of drugs.
-In 1945, the McCarran-Ferguson Act led by the Roosevelt Administration exempted the business of medical insurance from most federal regulation, including antitrust laws.
-In 1946, favoured hospitals received federal subsidies (matching grants and loans) provided under the Hospital Survey and Construction Act passed during the Truman Administration.
-In 1951, employers started to become the dominant third-party insurance buyer during the Truman Administration after the Internal Revenue Service declared group premiums tax-deductible.
-In 1965, nationalisation was started with a government buyer monopoly after the Johnson Administration led passage of Medicare and Medicaid
-In 1972, The Nixon Administration started restricting the supply of hospitals by requiring federal certificate-of-need for the construction of medical facilities.
-In 1974, The Nixon Administration after the Employee Retirement Income Security Act exempted employee health benefit plans offered by large employers (e.g., HMOs) from state regulations and lawsuits
-In 1984, During the Reagan Administration after the Drug Price Competition and Patent Term Restoration Act permitted the extension of patents beyond 20 years.

These are the major regulations and government intervention, there is a whole host of others which caused the huge price rise aswell.

2019-02-09 17:45:40 UTC

If it was a real private system it would be dirt cheap

2019-02-09 17:45:42 UTC

And high quality

2019-02-09 17:45:45 UTC

With no waiting times

2019-02-09 17:45:53 UTC

@Я миска риса for the government

2019-02-09 17:45:57 UTC

Damn strider rolling in with copy-pasta good man

2019-02-09 17:46:03 UTC

It would be underfunded by 1 trillion a year

2019-02-09 17:46:15 UTC

for the people, the people would save. But that’s compared to the system now

2019-02-09 17:46:20 UTC

Would it be expensive for the consumer?

2019-02-09 17:46:23 UTC

We can have a much better system and it’s private

2019-02-09 17:46:24 UTC

No

2019-02-09 17:46:28 UTC

Well the current one now

2019-02-09 17:46:34 UTC

It would hurt the poor people more

2019-02-09 17:46:40 UTC

Since higher taxes and Lower payroll

2019-02-09 17:46:49 UTC

So you hurt the people you try to help

2019-02-09 17:46:57 UTC

And remember we don’t have a private system in the best way

2019-02-09 17:47:08 UTC

strider

2019-02-09 17:47:08 UTC

Because the government over regulates it as I listed above
