Instead the minimum wage should be abolished and deflation should happen

2019-01-15 19:29:30 UTC

minimum wage cannot be too high definitely

2019-01-15 19:29:37 UTC

would harm small businesses

2019-01-15 19:30:02 UTC

Min wage shouldn't exist

2019-01-15 19:30:27 UTC

Well I'm not too informed on this topic so tell me if I'm wrong

2019-01-15 19:30:35 UTC

but if Minimum wage doesn't exist

2019-01-15 19:30:47 UTC

Illegals will take any salary for the job as long s they live in the US

2019-01-15 19:31:04 UTC

I mean they can now

2019-01-15 19:31:08 UTC

they work for below the min wage

2019-01-15 19:31:19 UTC

oh

2019-01-15 19:31:42 UTC

ye

2019-01-15 19:33:25 UTC

Honestly we need to deport all illegals

2019-01-15 20:22:52 UTC

Waste of money, many of them are conservative, hard working people who desire to be American

2019-01-15 20:23:09 UTC

Hey just wanted to say your graph is somewhat misleading

2019-01-15 20:23:24 UTC

whos grAPH

2019-01-15 20:24:16 UTC

Teen employment vs min wage

2019-01-15 20:25:10 UTC

what about it

2019-01-15 20:27:32 UTC

Conservatives check this out

2019-01-15 20:27:44 UTC

0:56 its big proponent is Stewart (((Levi)))

2019-01-15 20:33:04 UTC

Ok sorry so

2019-01-15 20:33:13 UTC

yea

2019-01-15 20:33:27 UTC

I think I might have to make a homemade graph for this

2019-01-15 20:34:04 UTC

whats the reason @Leo (BillNyeLand)

2019-01-15 20:45:58 UTC

The reason is that that minimum wage vs unemployment graph focuses on only one set of minimum wage increases, which was also accompanied by the onset of the largest recession since WWII

2019-01-15 20:46:13 UTC

That definitely has the potential to affect teen employment adversely

2019-01-15 20:46:44 UTC

Apologies, FREDGRAPH is being a pain

2019-01-15 20:47:36 UTC

What do you mean "one set"

2019-01-15 20:47:42 UTC

multiple wage increases took place

2019-01-15 20:53:13 UTC

Yes, but in a short time

2019-01-15 21:21:40 UTC

2019-01-15 21:22:44 UTC

So this graph is the 3 times the difference between teen unemployment and overall unemployment plotted vs minimum wage, adjusted for inflation, over the past 50-ish years

2019-01-15 21:23:17 UTC

As you can see, the spread depends more on recessions than rises in the minimum wage

2019-01-15 21:24:53 UTC

I like your graph, where are the data sets from

2019-01-15 21:25:31 UTC

More importantly, the days of the $10 (adjusted) min wage were not marked by hugely higher teen unemployment than the $7.25 of today

2019-01-15 21:25:38 UTC

FredGraph

2019-01-15 21:25:51 UTC

It's online economic data that I would hugely recommend for making your own graphs

2019-01-15 21:25:52 UTC

You're gonna summon SId!

2019-01-15 21:26:27 UTC

interesting, thanks

2019-01-15 21:28:42 UTC

do you know if they have state level stats available or does the fed only publish national averages
