Wdym what will happen?
will the tolls go up... or down
will the price be high... or low
depends what supply and demand has it at
no, there is none of that. There is one road, one toll, x amount of people use it daily. it is not fluctuating, it is a road in a population-stable location
what will happen to the tolls on that road?
will they magically be low?
the "supply" is 1: one road lol. The demand is x amount of people a day. It doesn't change, because it is a road.
the toll will be extremely high, because they know they can, because people need this road
I mere there’s 2 bridges but 1 only has a 2 lane road to get to it lol
So when they do work on the main one
You’re fucked
And it’s like every summer btw
mkay so there's some competition there, we can easily imagine a scenario though where just one road/bridge exists to get somewhere
Unless the same company buys both bridges
yeah then you're still boned
>like the government owning both xD
oof haha, the question is do we want the government having the monopoly, or private institutions
one of those is more efficient but wants to get as much money from you as possible
one of those is less efficient but profit isn't a concept
hmmm I wonder what dems want in exchange
like if they wanna negotiate, they want something
I see Pocahontas is in the thumbnail.
Good Pocahontas.
oof
Elizabeth Warren a fat L for MA
you said the rise of automation eliminates jobs right
I believed the same thing a few years ago
but it really doesn't
if you look back in time, industrial revolution for example, people were saying jobs would be gone and that a lot of people would be unemployed and people would be doing nothing
exactly how people say it now, but look what happened
That’s different though
People still needed to work the machines
In the scenario I’m talking automation removes the majority of jobs
Like high majority
people will still be needed to make the make the machines, check if theyre working properly, repair them
yes
Obviously
But in the IR the machines were run by people
