How do you define corporatism

2019-01-30 19:35:28 UTC

>doesn't know what corporatism is

2019-01-30 19:35:38 UTC

I know what it is

2019-01-30 19:35:38 UTC

>"debate me on economics"

2019-01-30 19:35:43 UTC

just people have different defintions

2019-01-30 19:36:22 UTC

corporatism is reactionary to socialism and capitalism so it would depend on your definitions for both of those

2019-01-30 19:37:02 UTC

I define socialism as the MoP owned by the workers or state
Capitalism is an economic system characterized by private or corporate ownership of capital goods, by investments that are determined by private decision, and by prices, production, and the distribution of goods that are determined by competition in a free market.

2019-01-30 19:37:36 UTC

"free market"

2019-01-30 19:37:42 UTC

yes

2019-01-30 19:37:45 UTC

hmmm

2019-01-30 19:37:52 UTC

Mhm?

2019-01-30 19:38:00 UTC

what does he mean by this

2019-01-30 19:38:17 UTC

I mean a market with no state intervention, just market forces

2019-01-30 19:38:22 UTC

are you talking a true free market or what?

2019-01-30 19:38:25 UTC

yes

2019-01-30 19:38:33 UTC

this doesn't exist anywhere?

2019-01-30 19:38:37 UTC

Correct

2019-01-30 19:38:46 UTC

atleast you're consistent

2019-01-30 19:40:07 UTC

like I said, I don't really care all that much about economics, I'm a national socialist. I see it as a tool to serve the people, not the people as a tool to serve the economy

2019-01-30 19:40:19 UTC

There is no "the economy"

2019-01-30 19:40:24 UTC

we are the economy

2019-01-30 19:40:30 UTC

it's not a seperate entity

2019-01-30 19:41:57 UTC

I'd disagree

2019-01-30 19:42:02 UTC

regardless

2019-01-30 19:42:08 UTC

Why

2019-01-30 19:42:27 UTC

it depends

2019-01-30 19:42:49 UTC

when I say "the economy" I'm referring to the system itself

2019-01-30 19:42:57 UTC

I'm anti-free market

2019-01-30 19:43:06 UTC

Why's that

2019-01-30 19:43:17 UTC

It allocates resources the best

2019-01-30 19:43:32 UTC

how do you define what "the best" is?

2019-01-30 19:43:47 UTC

Highest living standards

2019-01-30 19:43:57 UTC

and strong economic growth

2019-01-30 19:44:36 UTC

no boom and bust cycles

2019-01-30 19:44:54 UTC

Just general best allocation of scarce resources

2019-01-30 19:45:25 UTC

i care less about living standards than I do other things

2019-01-30 19:45:37 UTC

Thats the whole point of an economy

2019-01-30 19:45:37 UTC

how do you measure economic growth?

2019-01-30 19:45:44 UTC

A rise in the living standards

2019-01-30 19:45:55 UTC

how do you know that?

2019-01-30 19:46:52 UTC
