I believe in a nationalized postal service

2019-01-09 02:59:45 UTC

That's a form of socialism

2019-01-09 02:59:56 UTC

I was talking to @Jack H. about AOC's taxes

2019-01-09 02:59:59 UTC

It’s a socialized public service

2019-01-09 03:00:04 UTC

Yes

2019-01-09 03:00:27 UTC

Isn't that the definition of socialism? Making an industry state-owned? lol

2019-01-09 03:00:34 UTC

Like I said

2019-01-09 03:00:38 UTC

@chad Socialism is when most of the government owns industry

2019-01-09 03:00:42 UTC

I’ve never gotten the same definition twice

2019-01-09 03:00:51 UTC

Like Venezuala is considered socialist because the state owns the entire oil industry

2019-01-09 03:00:57 UTC

Yes

2019-01-09 03:00:59 UTC

But anon, that's where it gets confusing

2019-01-09 03:01:00 UTC

But I’m going to go off of the Internet definition and say it’s when the means of production are collectively owned

2019-01-09 03:01:02 UTC

When you say industry

2019-01-09 03:01:07 UTC

Do you mean ALL industry? or just some?

2019-01-09 03:01:11 UTC

There's different levels of socalism

2019-01-09 03:01:12 UTC

most

2019-01-09 03:01:13 UTC

I believe the advocacy for compensation for blacks is socially left. I believe prejudice against whites and the push for privilege and SJW common talking points are very leftist. SJW talking points and leftist social agendas are very popular amongst the public and celebrities

2019-01-09 03:01:26 UTC

Yes, it's a very complicated topic and has many different meanings

2019-01-09 03:01:27 UTC

But nobody advocates for most industries to be nationalized

2019-01-09 03:01:52 UTC

I don't think Liberals are advocating for compensation

2019-01-09 03:01:53 UTC

It is a very widespread topic, and worryingly popular

2019-01-09 03:01:59 UTC

The very extreme just advocate for a nationalist healthcare and clean energy industry

2019-01-09 03:02:02 UTC

Liberals might not be, leftists are

2019-01-09 03:02:06 UTC

But even then thats still a small minority

2019-01-09 03:02:09 UTC

^

2019-01-09 03:02:13 UTC

Venezuela’s problem isn’t so much socialism as it was just idiotically printing virtually unlimited money. Cuba’s more socialist than Venezuela, and while they’re still not as good as free capitalist countries, they’re a heck of a lot better off than Venezuela

2019-01-09 03:02:20 UTC

Yea

2019-01-09 03:02:25 UTC

Their economy is not diversified

2019-01-09 03:02:26 UTC

Very true

2019-01-09 03:02:39 UTC

Their entire economy was based off of oil, so when oil prices dropped so did a large portion of their gov income

2019-01-09 03:02:44 UTC

That also

2019-01-09 03:02:47 UTC

So they couldn't fund all the social programs they put into place

2019-01-09 03:02:57 UTC

Cuba’s been stagnant, Venezuela’s catastrophically collapses

2019-01-09 03:03:01 UTC

Cuba is socialist, but their life expectancy is higher than America's

2019-01-09 03:03:06 UTC

When oil prices were high in the late 2000's, Venezuela was booming

2019-01-09 03:03:10 UTC

@chad Was your comment of that still being a small minority directed to me?

2019-01-09 03:03:21 UTC

? Nah

2019-01-09 03:03:33 UTC

I think he was talking about leftists being the minority

2019-01-09 03:03:37 UTC

But also when it comes to the open borders thing

2019-01-09 03:03:47 UTC

I'm kind of sick of that honestly, it's a lie right wing media keep saying over and over and over again
