There will always be guns accessible, it's not like a complete ban assuming that's what you mean by control
Black Market guns are sort of hard to get
It wouldn't lower, they got other options some being not painful either
So what, I mean stopping a guy from killing himself by changing some laws isn't going to happen. If they are that determined to do it, they will pull through
I think it depends on how willing they are to die
Medication for example would be considered painless, I haven't done the research but I'm quite sure more people have killed themselves over other methods than guns
Around half of all suicides are by guns
That's 20,000 people
But without guns how will you defend your house when the government drone strikes it?
I'm pretty sure a lot of those 20,000 people would rather not feel all the pain
We need ar 15’s to defend against drones and missles
I’m joining
Joking
But yes removing guns would lower suicide rates
I know a lot of people personally who wanted to kill themselves but didn’t since there were no guns in their house
Shooting yourself is the easiest way to go
Well how strict we talking on control, removing or regulating
And the more painless
it really depends on how desperate you are tbh
if you are desperate enough pain wont matter
If you want to you know, abolish the 2nd amendment lmao - yeah sure it would lower. It's a shitty cost to pay but sure it would do at least "something"
Regulating wouldn't change much, even nowadays it's still relatively difficult to get a gun and there's other painless ways. It's not worth regulating for everybody just for the chance some guys will change their minds
Guys who are suicidal aren't bound by the law, regulating guns or even removing them just for suicidal reasons is out of the question - not effective. It'd be more of a chance
But states with the most gun control have lower suicide rates
hmmmmmm
I'll have to see that myself, I can't take your word for it. But what I can tell you is it's definitely not fuckin worth it I'll give you that much
*Firearm suicide rate
Or overall suicide rate
I'll have to look again
California, Illinois, New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts have low suicide rates
And a lot of gun control
texas, florida and georgia tho
Here is a map of gun suicides
map of gun control tho?
Notice how the 10 states with the lowest numbers are all blue
The higher the grade, the higher the gun control
georgia and texas tho
