You know... The thing you need to get to work to pay the child support
Yeah it's all so messed up man
Like these people that have to pay fines when they get out of jail and can't so go back to jail and get more fines.
its basically the legal version of male financial slavery
So if they go to jail do they have to pay the child support that was owed. I feel like if you go to jail then you start back at 0 . If you go to jail you can lose your jail. So this going to jail doesnt make sense. There should be a financial hear to see what causing you not to pay
Here's some info on what happens when it comes to paying child support in jail. It doesn't get reduced to zero at all, in fact could accumulate more. This help article is for Massachusetts but I have no reason to suppose it cant be applied to other US states
dude ...thats practically slavery for men
And this
That's like something from Soviat Russia. That law is made specifically to bleed men dry and then distroy them.
Hey guys, I’m at the end of my rope here and don’t know where to start. I am separated from my ex wife and she is not giving me access to my son. I currently live in Florida with my girlfriend and second son. My ex and my first born son live in Ohio. I am a veteran with ptsd waiting for a decision on disability so we live off of my girlfriends income. My budget is very tight and all I want is to see my son and help him grow. I’m fucking lost....
It's gonna be hard to hear but unless you have a court order which already dictates visitation you need to speak to a lawyer to get one ASAP, which is gonna mean spending money
So I’m just fucked until I can afford a lawyer?
You can look into some forms of legal aid, being a disabled vet may give you some advantages there
Any idea what the cheapest route be?
Not specifically no, but we do have some sites listed. I'm not the one specifically to ask about finding the best lawyer though, I haven't done it myself
Lucky lol this shits brutal
Yea I've heard stories and it all seems so tough :< I'm hoping being in a different state won't be held against you by the courts, I think that depends who moved out of state
I did. I don’t want full custody or anything like that just the basic visitation schedule would make me a very happy guy
Of course.. If you can get a free consultation then they can explain the process and things and how much things are likely to cost, that would be the first step. Try not to think of it as a massive thing and just do one thing at a time so you get to see your child, it's easy to get depressed and such if it feels like too much
Thanks for the encouragement. You’re right having to fight to see your kids is really exhausting, but I suppose it is the only option with my ex refusing. The worst part of it all is my kiddo getting caught in the middle
Yea, it sucks for both of you, but you're doing what you can to see them and that's important, making sure you stay a part of his life no matter who tries to stop you
Thanks again. At least now I know what the first step is.
No worries man, hopefully you'll come back and update us after that on how things are going :)
And if you need to vent and stuff, we can be good for that too ^^
I do my best not to vent about this lol. Too much angst
Well so'k if you do, everyone has different ways of coping with stuff
I'm afraid to get married due to divorce
It does suck, and a lot of things about that should be changed. If you can have a meaningful long term relationship without marriage that might be best, but if not then try not to let risks prevent you enjoying your life to the fullest
Yeah I dumbly got married at 20 right after joining the military. Wrong call.
@thorney112 Good luck , no one care about the military trust me i played that card
People like to think of the military as strong. Not needing any help.
no they see as money
i even went to the court house in ocp and the judge didnt care
@Indigo Where did you get that image? I'd like to cite it and credit the author
There are quite a few links that may help in <#523457566307516446> by the way @thorney112
so
question during my divorce my wife have filed mult injunction file but she have lied in all of them . https://www.lawserver.com/law/state/florida/statutes/florida_statutes_837-02 tell me she can be punished , do you guys have a course of action i should be taking to bring these charges to light
What were the injunctions for?
And can you prove that what she said were lies (and she knew they were lies) that effected the course and outcome of proceedings?
