@Indigo Is there one?
@Abbysol Go on then
The male symbol we use is just the symbol for mars anyway
I can’t think of anything good off the top of my head but I know Yang (half the yin-yang) is representative me man, something along those lines
Hmmmm
Just a thought, but is hard finding anything good, I am getting a lot of female symbology though so that’s always a good sign 😃
i see people talking about circumsion on how its bad for the male and all other effects but i just cant really understand it
being born into a muslim country where circumsion was mandatory and all it never really came across to me as taboo
but i really would wish after birth circumsion to my worst enemy
i had a after birth circumsion at age i think 11 and that shit would bleed constantly and hurt like a motherfucker
we had to buy one of those like gentialia protecter underwears just so i wouldnt be in pain 24/7
and im not even gonna get into the pain that is taking of the stiches
we took them of ourselves and you can propaly imagine how that felt
but after all that was done we had a "party" you could say like family members and friend came to it we rented out a place and all
i didnt understand it but its something they actually do just bassicly "celebrating" a circumsion
i wasnt really mad or anything since i got money for getting a small part of my dick chopped of but its been so many years since then
and i still really dont understand all the activisim going on about circumsion
Circumcision cuts healthy, sensitive tissue away from an infant, violating his bodily integrity and denying him full penile sensation. It is mutilation.
and its not even standardized, medical textbooks dont cover it because "routine" circ isnt a real procedure. american medical textbooks also sometimes dont even include the foreskin when discuss male anatomy, the cut model is what doctors learn. they dont even learn what the natural anatomy is
thing is i never even had a word in it since it was just "traditional" to have a circumsicion and people would literally ask if you were circumsiced yet
That's our point of contension, we don't mind if an adult chooses to have it done for whatever reason. But a child has no choice
why is this kind of activisim not in any countries where this is mandatory
Mmm... Well idk of any where circumcision are mandatory of the top of my head, but a lot do have a very strong cultural/social/religious pressure to have it performed
well the country i was born/circumsisced in was turkey and i know for sure in most of these muslim countries its "traditional"
There's always ostracism when you speak out against such things, which is why in those societies very few will do so
It would be said that you weren't a true muslim and such
like that dr on twitter calling it "fragile male ego" and "mansplaining"
Yeah, that fraud of a medical “professional.”
i wonder if its delusion or willful disinformation
Cleanliness is the reason for the practice in Islam. It stems from a misunderstanding of 'benefits' of the practice, which don't really exist, especially before puberty, as the prepuce is not supposed to be seperated from the glans till then. Another given reason is to be similar to the last prophet who is supposed to have been born without one. However neither of these things actually preclude the practice being performed as an adult. There's no reason to have it be performed on infants besides societal pressure and social norms.
@Gok how do you feel about it?
honestly its so normal here i really dont feel anything on it
i havent felt "plesure" with a intact foreskin so i wouldnt know the differences
I would never encourage you to feel shame for your body or disdain for your relatives for giving into your cultural norms, but it's good to question the practice of routinely cutting little boys for the future of such cultures. If it is harmful, as I and others contend, then it doesn't set a good precedent for the worthiness of that, or any, culture
One thing I always come back to thinking on, is if you want to make a commitment to Allah/God, your society, or anything, what better way than to do it when you are capable of making a fully conscious choice of that? A child can hardly understand the significance of such a thing
And it's worth noting that the Qur'an does not command it done, it's only mentioned in the Sunnah
@Gok You should imagine doing that same thing you discribe to a baby
BTW would you let me add your description to www.menarehuman.com as a part of a circumcision article?
@InsaneCaterpilla Your comments would be a very good thing to add to the article on circumcision in the part about religious practices as it is very reasonable.
If you wanna copy anything I said, please feel free
Thanks!
