That’s a big part of why we need more awareness of male rights I guess

2018-11-27 10:52:25 UTC

@Tablecloth I have no idea where that just came from

2018-11-27 10:52:37 UTC

*stops silently watching in the background*

2018-11-27 10:52:38 UTC

@Tablecloth It's possible. I think the first step is creating widespread empathy.

2018-11-27 10:53:56 UTC

Maybe the dislike of men starts at a young age? Maybe they just want attention?

2018-11-27 10:54:11 UTC

@Abbysol Hey, you know, you seem to have had a lot of different experiences with all kinds of awful gender things. Would you be interested in writing about a few of them for www.menarehuman.com at all? I'd really like to hear about a few.

2018-11-27 10:54:22 UTC

it’s kinda confusing.

2018-11-27 10:54:27 UTC

I do think a lot of feminist talking points are directly connected to MRA points, if people could just get their heads out of the asses for 5 min and actually listen instead of jumping to conclusions... Women are expected to be Primary Caregivers? let Fathers be dads? Girls being under diagnosed with disorders such as Autism and ADHD? stop over diagnosing boys and demonizing the illnesses ! dont like Little girls getting their clits cut? then maybe you should think twice about cutting boys so casually.... I could go on

2018-11-27 10:54:41 UTC

Some of the more extreme groups I believe are after attention.

2018-11-27 10:55:10 UTC

Also circumsiciosn on men

2018-11-27 10:55:22 UTC

Why is it legal to do it to boys and not girls.

2018-11-27 10:55:45 UTC

also who cooked up the idea of cutting off someone’s foreskin geez.

2018-11-27 10:56:33 UTC

Religion?... idk... that's the excuse to be able to do it anyway

2018-11-27 10:57:06 UTC

In the US it was Kellogg, a cereal manufacturer, who popularised it as a way to curb men's sexual appetites

2018-11-27 10:57:16 UTC

huh

2018-11-27 10:57:46 UTC

That is how circumcision was normalised in the US

2018-11-27 10:58:18 UTC

Also I’ve noticed that some people have the mentality that people who believe in male rights are somewhat “far-right” nazis.

2018-11-27 11:03:40 UTC

yeah, seen plenty of that

2018-11-27 11:04:51 UTC

some Australian politicians tried to support some of the issues but backpedaled very quick when they got feminist backlash

2018-11-27 11:06:12 UTC

also this idea that MRAs are anti-LQBT+... the only person I know IRL that is also MRA is the gayest man I know, and I hung out with him at a Lesbians house xD

2018-11-27 11:11:15 UTC

What I am saying (very poorly) is we are a much more diverse bunch then we get credit for 😄

2018-11-27 11:35:35 UTC

@Abbysol Cleanliness and stopping boys being promiscuous is the real reason. Circumcision dates all the way back. It may be as old as trepanating. I've seen examples from African tribes and anchent Egyptian texts. I don't think we can even say who invented the idea.

2018-11-27 11:38:03 UTC

@Abbysol There are indeed loads of gay MRAs and plenty who want to be gay, lol. I can understand why. If you are gay the divorce court can't favour anyone female. Personally I find I like that we have very equal relationships.

2018-11-27 12:11:59 UTC

@Tablecloth That's indeed the case. Anyone got any ideas on how to undermine the idea we are all Nazis? Denying it won't help much, but there has gotta be a way.

2018-11-27 12:12:44 UTC

Lock anyone who calls us nazis in a camp somewhere.

2018-11-27 12:13:55 UTC

Truly would be the final solution.

2018-11-27 12:14:00 UTC

wouldn't that be a very nazi thing to do? xD

2018-11-27 12:14:22 UTC

guess i had better go get my brown coat

2018-11-27 12:14:43 UTC

But in all seriousness I think more organisations need to come out as specifically MRA. The few that exist ATM try to ignore the label

2018-11-27 12:27:40 UTC

In all honesty I wouldn't know what more would help. Our arguments are perfectly fine but people either don't care about them or are willingly blind to them.

2018-11-27 12:28:24 UTC

no, I think the problem is they only care if it even remotely sounds like something they can get outraged at.

2018-11-27 12:28:52 UTC

Plenty of men's issues are things to be outraged at

2018-11-27 12:29:05 UTC

But the majority of people couldn't care less

2018-11-27 12:35:51 UTC

It takes people actually caring and not minimising the issues.

2018-11-27 12:37:01 UTC

I know Feminists blame MRAs with our whataboutisms but they still reign supreme at that. Or they just blame it on men and continue to ignore it

2018-11-27 12:38:40 UTC

or blame it on "Patriarchy" and then claim they are not blaming men

2018-11-27 12:39:16 UTC

Let's face it we know they mean men

2018-11-27 12:39:51 UTC

pretty sure they know they mean men

2018-11-27 12:51:09 UTC

This is a big part of the the reason my site is so heavy on the accounts and personal experiences of victims of sexual assault and so on. If we can raise empathy we can get people to care.

2018-11-27 12:52:04 UTC

Everything on there is about paying this stuff bare, as painful as it can be.

2018-11-27 12:56:24 UTC

It's very very hard for a Feminist or anyone to look the damage they are doing in the face and realise the human cost - but this is at least one way to do it effectively.
