I'm trying to think though, because a thing like MensLib only really works based on the size of feminism (and just barely at that) I feel like anything else would quickly fade into obscurity

2018-12-03 14:00:12 UTC

I share Abbysol's opinion on this

2018-12-03 14:00:45 UTC

The cross-section of people who could find that useful are way too small

2018-12-03 14:01:00 UTC

So I can't see that sort of community working out

2018-12-03 14:01:13 UTC

an ask an MRA thing could be interesting if it doesnt exist already but I feel like that would just be repetitive stupidity and trolling and baiting.

2018-12-03 14:01:39 UTC

I'm almost positive there's an ask an MRA sub

2018-12-03 14:01:48 UTC

And there is also FemRA

2018-12-03 14:01:53 UTC

I think menslib kind of acts like a gateway to wider MRM

2018-12-03 14:02:22 UTC

Menslib is where people who could be concerned about men's issues go to be brainwashed

2018-12-03 14:02:25 UTC

/Looks at mens lib... da fuck is this shit? /looks for something better

2018-12-03 14:03:47 UTC

Most People who come there will find where it's fault lines lie and will jump ship

2018-12-03 14:04:24 UTC

I think you really have to have come across the real MRM somehow in order to jump ship from that. For instance, I found it after watching Cassie's documentary.

2018-12-03 14:04:28 UTC

@Abbysol @Indigo I don't have enough faith in people to believe that

2018-12-03 14:04:32 UTC

but since real men's issues basically aren't talked about there

2018-12-03 14:04:53 UTC

And I mean it actively tries to direct attention away from them. You can search the sub for Homelessness, Divorce, Domestic Violence, or stuff and find 2-3 results from years back. Actually 3 results was for Homelessness, the most discussed topic of the three.

2018-12-03 14:05:00 UTC

So you aren't going to find the MRM through that

2018-12-03 14:06:46 UTC

It's deficiencies are utterly evident

2018-12-03 14:07:31 UTC

Ive seen a few people post on the MRM sub that came directly from Menslib because they where so disappointed

2018-12-03 14:07:48 UTC

To find menslib you really need to be looking for a men's issues sub anyway, so if you find that one instead of a real one, it's only gonna be subverting some people away. If it didnt exist they would find men's rights anyway

2018-12-03 14:08:13 UTC

Some people will be convinced enough to stay on menslib and buy into their crap

2018-12-03 14:08:39 UTC

And that's the thing. I'm pretty sure people don't get dissatisfied with the MensLib way of doing things without first coming across the MRM

2018-12-03 14:09:28 UTC

wouldn't know though, I am banned from r/feminism

2018-12-03 14:10:03 UTC

I got banned from legaladviceuk for posting in men's rights

2018-12-03 14:10:03 UTC

Compare the active users of /r/MensLib to something really, really fringe like /r/Antinatalism

2018-12-03 14:10:10 UTC

Not posted in feminism

2018-12-03 14:12:08 UTC

we need to put efforts mainly to chip away people from Lib

2018-12-03 14:13:23 UTC

@Indigo the only way to do that is not to post in the sub itself but to speak up when anyone mentions menslib outside of the sub. Not that I think its particularly worthwhile doing.

2018-12-03 14:14:11 UTC

I feel like the goal is not to aim at feminists but to aim more at normal people, I feel like most people are rational but only hear one side and dont really want to have to go out of their way for anything, is why I lend out my books and The Red Pill movie so much, since anyone I have lent it too has come back with "yeah, I see your point", the problem is also trying to come across and not trying to shove it down their throats either... it's all very complicated >.<

2018-12-03 14:14:56 UTC

I'm actually worried it is something that would catch on as an idea

2018-12-03 14:14:56 UTC

trying to convince a feminist of anything is trying to tell water not to be wet, there is no reasoning with crazy

2018-12-03 14:15:09 UTC

Oh, there is a way

2018-12-03 14:15:20 UTC

You fight crazy with itself

2018-12-03 14:16:06 UTC

I feel like fighting crazy with crazy will just end up with 2 lunatics screaming at each other from such a distance that they can't actually hear each other

2018-12-03 14:16:17 UTC

Possibly

2018-12-03 14:17:04 UTC

It's something we could refine quite quickly.

2018-12-03 14:19:33 UTC

Make it so that only conspiracy members can post topics

2018-12-03 14:19:37 UTC

but anyone can comment

2018-12-03 14:19:42 UTC

The thing is to get them to read our stuff - and they are so isolated as to not really know what our stuff is

2018-12-03 14:19:50 UTC

I went on that against sub once... I felt like they where looking at a completely different movement then the one I was a part of :T

2018-12-03 14:19:51 UTC

Yes

2018-12-03 14:20:10 UTC

@Abbysol yep. They mostly fish in the comments
