If @InsaneCaterpilla or anyone else wants to tackle them, please go right ahead - I'm off to bed

2019-01-17 22:05:48 UTC

I'll see what I can find later today

2019-01-17 22:13:51 UTC

Oof, it looks like I missed CoP :<

2019-01-18 02:52:58 UTC

Hell I missed him, and I AM him! Work was nuts!

2019-01-18 02:53:46 UTC

I work at a hospital, Labor and Delivery. My department is Registration but I do so much more than that.

2019-01-18 02:55:34 UTC

Aside from mommas and babies, I handle patient status types throughout the hospital, insurance claims and follow ups, and handle several different calls, to begin to explain what I do. I like it.

12hr shifts Thurs through Sat, and a mini shift on Wednesday. Rest of the week is open.

4 day week, sounds nice ^^

Ok, so, ive looked around Reddit and I can't find the rebuttal I thought I'd seen. I've also had a look for a decent one that debunks that stat through google but find it difficult to locate the source of the stat. This might be because it doesn't exist. Genkernels links to stats in <#523922218200203265> are solid, however, in that they show fathers getting custody (even joint) less often than women even in contested cases. However to fully debunk the claim it requires an analysis of the source... Twitter probably isn't the best place to get that, and I doubt people there are gonna pay attention if you ask for it tbh

2019-01-18 08:01:30 UTC

Was that thread you were looking for that one?

2019-01-18 08:04:40 UTC

You know, it might be. Great job finding that

2019-01-18 08:07:15 UTC

Looks like the citations are dead

2019-01-18 08:07:24 UTC

Or some of them

2019-01-18 08:08:20 UTC

The sources for the claim in the Reddit thread still work for me

2019-01-18 08:08:51 UTC

Incl the study which supposedly gives the figure I was thinking of (it's close if not exact to the figure your person gave)

2019-01-18 08:09:01 UTC

Haven't had chance to read through it yet though

2019-01-18 08:21:03 UTC

After checking, Celda's comment is a good debunk there, the study really does site things back from the 70's and this study itself is from 1990

2019-01-18 08:21:24 UTC

Hardly relevant to prevalent statistics these days

2019-01-18 08:21:33 UTC

Yer the one cited in the comments is dead I think

2019-01-18 08:22:14 UTC

I'm only meaning what they said regarding the study, not other sources that show the opposite, I haven't checked those

2019-01-18 08:23:44 UTC

You're right in that those links from Celda don't prove the opposite of the claim (because they're no longer available), however Genkernels ones in <#523922218200203265> do
