Well there was a guy who was captive in the Middle East, when he was finally released he was arrested as soon as he got home because of overdue child support

That is genuinely awful, imagine the kids being ecstatic just to have their father back from a life threatening situation, and then... boom, he's arrested

Also if you miss one payment ever, no matter the reason, you are actually “legally” labeled as a deadbeat dad for the rest of your life

It’s just based on the courts rule, each partner makes a case on who has more right to the thing and the court decides who gets it

I didn’t know my dad growing up, and my mum has convinced us he was a bad person for many years

Older we got to see him about once a year

But then didn’t seem him for about 3 years and it was because my mum had accused him is sexually assisting me

When she kicked me out of home by dad came and got me, so we could be homeless together

Well when we tried to tell child support that I had been kicked out of home, they wouldn’t listen, so they called my mum and she told them I was welcome home whenever, so they only called back to tell us that child support had to continue, I didn’t get a say, they told me over the phone that “they don’t get the children involved”... I was 17 at the time.

I wouldn't want to go home to someone so conniving. That's awful, is everything okay nowadays?

She was an abusive alcoholic so I wasn’t going back, lol

And yeah, things can still be rough, money and my dads health the usual issues, but things are getting much better
