its a very different culture and I don't think the issues happening there are equatable to issues happening elsewhere

2019-01-31 06:25:25 UTC

No, there are definitely cultural upheavals going on

2019-01-31 06:25:35 UTC

but I dont' think the women's movement is totally bonkers yet

2019-01-31 06:25:57 UTC

The same thing is going on where women are being given rights, but men are still legally obligated with certain responsibilities

2019-01-31 06:26:00 UTC

But it's unique to india

2019-01-31 06:26:38 UTC

well I think what's good in india is the mens movement is growing in tandem with it's womens movement, will be interesting to see what the outcome of that is like.

2019-01-31 06:28:40 UTC

Yeah

2019-01-31 06:28:55 UTC

India is maybe the most sexist country for men in the planet. It's a weird confluence of traditional gynocentrism, political whiteknightism and feminism

2019-01-31 06:29:27 UTC

yet it has some of the most brutal and publicly acceptable incidents of rape in the world

2019-01-31 06:30:31 UTC

Life in most parts of India is hard, both for men and women. As is with everywhere else in the third world

2019-01-31 06:31:56 UTC

People have this gynocentric tendency to overlook male issues. That's why we get people more hung up with rape than lynchings

2019-01-31 06:32:24 UTC

Which happens to men 95+ percent of times

2019-01-31 06:36:42 UTC

You can take the case of the example of Rwanda, during the insurgency, women were interviewed by international media and became an international outcry when the Rwandan women said that they are being raped when they go out to fetch water.
The interviewers asked them why could the men just do that then.
And to that they replied that men would be killed if they went out.

2019-01-31 06:37:02 UTC

Yeah

2019-01-31 06:37:40 UTC

male disposability. karen did a viceo on that to

2019-01-31 06:38:07 UTC

when feminists say "violence against women is normalized"...like what? violence against men plainly seen as the "less bad" violence

2019-01-31 06:41:48 UTC

The same about Boko haram kidnapping 200 girls and the world went nuts, while no one batted an eye when nearly 10000 kidnapped boys were burnt to death by Boko haram.

2019-01-31 06:44:51 UTC

its why we need a mens rights movement. to talk about things no one else does

2019-01-31 06:45:01 UTC

or to "mansplain" them

2019-01-31 08:28:45 UTC

Oh yeah, we did a whole article on male disposability and Boko Haram

2019-01-31 19:56:48 UTC

Hello

2019-01-31 19:56:57 UTC

Any female allies heres?

2019-01-31 19:57:57 UTC

I could be considered that

2019-01-31 20:02:03 UTC

what do you bring to the movement? @~LittleBee~

2019-01-31 20:02:57 UTC

In truth I came here in curiosity. I advocate for equality of the sexes but I don't think I should be considered part of a "movement"

2019-01-31 20:03:23 UTC

'Female allies'... Hmm we don't do that here

2019-01-31 20:03:33 UTC

I have a support for men and their rights

2019-01-31 20:03:43 UTC

Everyone who believes in mrm is an mra

2019-01-31 20:03:52 UTC

We don't classify women as allies

2019-01-31 20:03:54 UTC

I would call myself an MRA

2019-01-31 20:05:29 UTC
