@Men Are Human what exactly would you write about?

2019-02-12 17:55:01 UTC

@S8N oh, I wanted to make an article that's just quotes from people in education who have been forced to listen to crappy Feminist rhetoric in the classroom. Might be a sequel to the Schools article. I'd not be commenting, except at the beginning.

2019-02-12 17:58:10 UTC

i can give my own opinion on the topic, though as explained above, I haven't introduced any of them to the MRM, only gradually introduced them to certain issues that men face. asking them to give quotes for an article they don't know much about might be off-putting to them.

2019-02-12 18:03:48 UTC

Oh, no, I just meant I wanted to hear about it from you in your own words. If you could just expand a little on what you already wrote, say how often it happens, maybe a few more examples, and that would be fine.

To summarize, my english teacher is a lesbian feminist who's very engaged in both the LGBT community and the feminist community. While I have absolutely no problem with the first, the latter can get on some nerves as she definetly pressures it.

We were in English class (not an english speaking country, supposed to be language learning), before starting, she specifically said that she will try to keep this away from politics to the best of her ability. We had the new topic of "human rights". We were given sheets of paper of different human rights articles, and we had to read them, so on. Later, she turns on the projector and a few images are on screen. The largest sized one was a (fairly recent) picture of feminists marching in the streets

2019-02-12 18:11:39 UTC

The second most prominent one was a Black Lives Matter protest. (very political, no need to say)

2019-02-12 18:12:41 UTC

Also very largely sized, was a picture of the feminist logo (♀️ with a = in the middle)

Me and a friend of mine complained about how she was promoting feminism. He went on a very short discussion which ended up to the pay gap. The teacher said that she can discuss that later, when she can show some statistics. She then proceeded with the class as normal. The discussion itself never continued during or after the lesson.

An unrelated but interesting thing I found is that our English books used terms like "white male" a few times.

2019-02-12 18:15:24 UTC

in negative ways, of course

2019-02-12 18:20:03 UTC

if you are not in an english speaking country, why are you learning about American activism?

2019-02-12 18:20:10 UTC

Black Lives Matter is quite distinctly American

2019-02-12 18:20:35 UTC

I'm willing to bet the Feminist footage was from US marches as well

2019-02-12 18:21:11 UTC

An excercise on our book I also find particularily interesting.

[7] How to: Show everyday courage and support

a) What could you say in the following situations?
Look at the phrases on the right for ideas.

In an expensive shop: You have just been treated very well by a shop assistant. She then turns to a poor-looking **girl** your age and tells her that maybe she should try one of the cheaper shops down the street. **You think it's awful**.

2019-02-12 18:21:29 UTC

It was from US marches indeed

2019-02-12 18:21:49 UTC

do you mind if I ask which country this is?

2019-02-12 18:21:52 UTC

Germany

2019-02-12 18:22:09 UTC

thats extremely confusing

2019-02-12 18:23:53 UTC

Thanks @S8N, if you have more let me know. Your English is very good by the way. :) I never realized you're German.

2019-02-12 18:24:39 UTC

heh, I'm actually Romanian. Moved to Germany with my parents because of job opportunities

2019-02-12 18:25:20 UTC

how you like Germany?

2019-02-12 18:25:28 UTC

It's a great country with great people

2019-02-12 18:25:59 UTC

I had no idea that Germany has gender quality issues, I thought they were one of the more gender equal countries in the world

2019-02-12 18:26:46 UTC

and, I just noticed

2019-02-12 18:26:48 UTC

My book

2019-02-12 18:26:51 UTC

straight at the Unit start

2019-02-12 18:27:13 UTC

"Are there enough women in positions of power?"

"White males still dominate business in North America and Europe. For how much longer?"

2019-02-12 18:27:25 UTC

This is what our **English language learning class** teaches us

2019-02-12 18:27:50 UTC

i'll try to send some pictures if i can

2019-02-12 18:28:29 UTC

I wonder if those books were written in the US

2019-02-12 18:29:08 UTC

because that is psyhotically political for a language lessons book

2019-02-12 18:29:41 UTC

I did not get political lessons in my Japanese Language books

2019-02-12 18:32:06 UTC

so you're telling me... the GREATEST HUMAN RIGHTS ISSUE IN THE WORLD... is feminism?

2019-02-12 18:32:13 UTC

or rather that book is telling me that

2019-02-12 18:32:27 UTC

jesus christ that is delusional

2019-02-12 18:33:07 UTC

@Men Are Human you can use that picture in the article btw. I think it's important to show how schools around the world induct their children into political views in unrelated classes.

2019-02-12 18:34:05 UTC

I like how the only two words visible on the bottom left are Equality and Protest

2019-02-12 18:34:42 UTC

Social justice and classes about racism are being implemented into our school this year, to a degree

2019-02-12 18:35:00 UTC

our class is testing new projects (WPU) before they're rolled out to the rest of the school

2019-02-12 18:35:08 UTC

they're largely social topics like "racism"
