yes, my position is that the changes aren't random, they happen within a context.. the particular schools of thought on the left and right develop over time and the position one is holding today can be tracked back to that school.
so even if a left winger and right winger are holding the same position, they can be coming from completely different angles, which can be leftist or right wing even tho the end position is the same
