but that's cool man I hope it gets you far
is it hard to pass?
Thanks. And yeah it was pretty crazy
so guys
I'm doing some reading
these guys developed a strain of E Coli that you put on your fruit when you run a grocery store, and it changes color if the fruit is ripe
they want to make a sticker like the normal sticker they put on fruit right now
with e coli in it
I don't think they've really
like
you know
thought this through
putting ecoli
on all fruit in a store
lolol
they won first place in the competition though
🤔
Are there less harmful strains
OOOOF COUUUUURSSCHHH
OOOOOF COOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUURSCHHH
thanks doc
eli you doing stuff motivates people
the problem is it needs to be a cascade of people doing cool shit
then everyone will follow
it has to be normalized
we should do it like fightclub
you get the zucc if you go one month without doing a thing
That could work
"Firstly, despite the cells being immobilised in the latex coating, genetically modified E.coli cells are in contact with fresh produce intended for consumption and could potentially be consumed themselves. Due to unease in society regarding GMOs, and also heavy legal restrictions surrounding the release and applications of GMOs, there is anticipated to be a large backlash or consumer concern raised about this issue.
Hopefully outreach events similar to the ones we held, and a growing understanding of synthetic biology will help to diffuse this concern. "
HURRRRRR
I'm getting a phd in this shit and I'm telling you right now no matter what the fuck you do to e coli it's not a good idea to eat it
i think after this spring/summer it will be normalized and people will see how easy it is
@Eli Mosley ???
what did he mean by this
what is happening this spring break'
Shit like this is what makes normies freak out over GMOs and nonorganic foods. @Convo
mmm
the "everything is a GMO" meme is dumb
it's true that dogs and oranges and grapes are all GMOs since they were selectively bred
but the problem is that everything is fragile now because they don't have robust genes cultivated over millions of years
so if things go wrong they all die
