@Chancellor I don't know that the latter can exist. A culture; a people are defined by their limitation, and the spirit of innovation exists in limitation. The spirit of a people exists in their hardships. I think we all acknowledge that a culture like what you're describing in the latter would have few legitimate hardships. The former, to me, is more desirable. But we must not concern ourselves with the fromer any longer.
