Coins cost about $3 to manufacture so individual coins are a little more expensive. That price is a collector (proof) coins price, way too high if you just want silver. I don't know anything about the collector value.

get few bucks of nickels at the bank....smelt it down to bars ...and re sell it to scrap yards and make a profit

each nickel that is worth 5 cents currency value...is actually worth more as scrap nickel

first measure weight of each nickel coin... then check current exchange rate for refined nickel at nearby scrapyards(don't mention the idea to scrap coin into metal tho)

calc the amount of weight of nickel coins u need per buying weight of the scrapyard that trades in refined nickel

and the difference will be ur profit minus the cost of doing the melting and other expenses if needed
