ppl think it started in 2007, but it really started in 2006 with the test of the metals market
with the fake demand for copper and aluminum from china, which never happened and caused the prices for those materials and others to skyrocket
when ppl or org's stockpile materials and they're not using it at any time during a few weeks to a month or so after the stockpile, u know something will happen on the market to change the price to something much higher so they can profit off it
it's called 'market fixing'
and it's illegal
unfortunately, past gov admins blocked securities and exchange commission panels from stopping it or arresting them for 'market fixing'
when the market for such products soured in when they had a vast stockpile and had evidence of both market tampering and not selling such materials prior to the fix being activated
