it's "LE"............ BUT seeing the "Mercenaires" part put WITH that otehr part.....
Would it just be a confused fuck of bad translation?
so, if they are supposed to be put together, that changes some things
if they are supposed to be put together, it would be "Vive les sacrés mercenaires!"
You're a native English speaker, right?
I doubt "Hail the war" sounds all that right.... right?
.... but yeah, in the French translation screenshot, there are some other errors. "Mort" and "Guerre" being capitalised.
The capital letters point to Death (as in the personification) and something like THE war (instead of The Great War, here it's just the War).
"Vive les sacrés mercenaires!"
that's the correct translation for the last bit
...... now, for what it means in English.......
you're in for a ride.
it can either mean that the mercenaries are holy (but it's organised in a poetic fashion)
or it can mean "Hail the damned mercenaries" but in a friendly way. (like "Hail them gosh darned mercenaries")
Hulkoff's work is such that saying "Long live war" and "Long live death" is not out of place
And yeah "Hail the war" doesnt sound right, although "Long live the war" as retarded as a phrase that would be to say, is gramatically correct
But "long live" is not the same as "vive".
It would have to be "Longue vie"
maybe he changed the words, to get a better flow...
Probably
In English the French phrase "Vive la" is just used generically to mean "Long live"
Take for example the coldplay song "Viva la vida"
Long live life
sure.
And totally underrated song
Yes

@Den Röda Smurfen You there?
yep

This verse here:
Här ute härskar snö och kyla
Och den som finner stigen hit
Kommer endast att slutligen finna
That last line has me baffled
Kommer stands for coomer obviously
