Now that I think about it, what was the pasta that started the whole haunted video game BS
Was it Sonic.exe or was it BEN DROWNED?
cursed object stuff generally doesn't get me, most horror doesn't, life is scary enough. It's the existential shit that tends to really get me, but horror in general doesn't hit that angle very well most of the time, so most of the time what I like tends to be high concept or have sort of a cryptic style which the genre is good for.
Like The Thing. Almost perfect horror movie.
but that kind of thing is rare.
skinwalker gets kind of there
You thinking HP lovecraft?
I do really love HP
that's why I like the horrorbabble channel
lot of that kind of thing there
I like the texts that don't really have a conclusive ending and the OP is like "what the fuck was that"
i've seen some stuff that fits that category, and if I read it I probably wouldn't believe any of it
makes it a bit easier to suspend disbelief for that moment
a lot of it is atmosphere though
it doesn't really "scare" me persay, more so entertains and interests me
music can be really important
honestly I prefer vids with minimal to no music because the music can sometimes be a bad contrast depending on the track
if it's ambient music from quake, that's fucking great
lol
with channels like keque, for instance
or sound design, in general
I can overlook the music sometimes but sometimes the sound mixing is too much
in a lot of channels, yeah
or when they do stupid things with their voices
like always sounding like they're asking a question
bad audio can ruin everything
or when they accidentally fuck up the recording but don't edit it lmfao
so you get the entire sentence repeated
but in a different tone of voice
makes me fucking double take and think I had a stroke
listening to this atm
@SheepTeeth The exploring series is really good, I usually listen to the SCP stuff
I'm really not into scp stuff
Oof
Then just go with HP Lovecraft story readings I guess
Eh
YES ANOTHER ONE OF MY STORIES WAS FEATURED
The only spooky story I have is that I somehow knew I was going to get stung by a wasp before it happened, twice
