I might be able to help troubleshoot it if I knew specifically what you were having an issue with.

I've never opened the program before, but near as I can tell it's a region tool that has a bunch of, effectively, auto-masking settings. From what I can see it looks like the layer effect is bleeding outside of where you want it. You'll probably have to find some way to define that region/area, and then drop the effect onto that.

If you're familiar with photoshop try thinking about it kind of like an alpha layer. You're taking everything in that layergroup and passing it down onto whatever is below it. That's at least the gist of what I got out of this:

Main problem is that you have no blue at all in places thwt would be iluminated

A more gradual fade in some spots would also help, as well as brightening the hammer
