**UBI is completely economically unfeasible and irresponsible**

* There are 253,227,594 Adults over the age of 18 In the United States
* To give each one $1,000 a month, a common figure floated, would cost $3,039 Billion
* Eliminating Social Security, Unemployment, Medicare, Medicaid, and other health entitlements would only free up $2,560 Billion
* You would have to eliminate the US military 4.8 times over to pay for UBI
* Last year the US Federal Government spent $4,094 Billion

You would almost need to double federal revenue for this to be workable, which is a nonstarter. UBI is pushed by people who don't care to think through the consequences or feasibility of policy. It's pushed because it feels like a good thing, not because it would be a good thing.

Mises managed to point out fairly succinctly as well that wealth redistribution just happens within each class. The working poor subsidise the non working poor, in the middle class, the families subsidise the childless, or the private schoolers subsidise the public schoolers or the smokers subsidise the non-smokers etc. You get to the rich and they simply pay so much tax but get so much in subsidies.
