The 30mm that the Luftwaffe used was a low velocity one I think, but by that point most of their fleet was interceptors because the allies had air superiority

Well the MK103 was used in ground attack
Mk103 was a 250kg autocannon with a 6ft barrel, capable of firing an HVAP round at ~1km/s.
I'd love to see one shoved in to a 109's motorkanone mount
Only problem I'd see is heavy metals shortages but standard AP belts are still pretty deadly to the top of shitty Russian tanks and sherman decks
