careful hermit those facts are too strong, I can't agree more

Just walked past one of the TVs at work and Andrew Cuomo has an ash cross on his forehead. Didn’t think he could be a bigger hypocrite.
@Longshanks Hell.
£- pounds
@Longshanks For Lent. Ash cross on the forehead as part of mass.
ah
Just struck me as funny to see it. Got his super-serious, moral busybody face on with a black cross smudged on his forehead.
Doesn’t get more poetic.
I'm not a Christian
is the black cross like an anti-Christ thing?
like a day where you can be the opposite?
It’s a Catholic thing for Lent.
(furiously googles)
Ash Wednesday.
dayum I'm seeing conflicting ideas of it
I always thought it was like a baccanalia sort of thing
cuz the mardis gras
oh that comes before
Ay guys, thought I might as well hop into the server after I've been tuned into triple HHH for a few months.
Yeah, there’s overlap, but the current use is so you can virtue-signal that you’re giving up candy for a few weeks.
@Harkyn, LordOfTheFallen Welcome to the server, brother.
@Harkyn, LordOfTheFallen Welcome, brother!
Howdy, kind of glad I got a bit of time to screw around on my laptop in the booth this evening, today was pretty busy getting loads signed in.
so that's giving up all sweet treats or just candy candy @Five, Seven, and Two
like you can have a coke
that's candy
@Harkyn, LordOfTheFallen You in upside down world or Mad Max country or night shift in the US?
I have a day and night job. Just saving up so I can get into trucking before it gets automated
@Longshanks Was just making a joke; purpose of Lent is to give up something for 40 days to represent Jesus wandering in the wilderness.
Most people are basic bitches, though, and choose to give up something incredibly mundane that requires little to no sacrifice on their part, but gives them leverage to make a huge deal about it.
@Harkyn, LordOfTheFallen Right on, man. Now’s definitely the time to get in and make whatever bank you can; good luck to you.
My standard of living is so low right now, just even the starting pay would make it easier buying enough silver for a year to start.
So are you saving to purchase your own rig?
As much as I would love to do that, that wouldn't be fiscally responsible to lease one right out of the gate.
What is it you’re saving for to get into the industry, if I can ask?
Several things, I could just go straight working for Schneider since one of their hubs are nearby, but I at least need a bare minimum of five grand to fall back on if the rig they put me in breaks down and I might be out of work for a couple of weeks.
I've already gotten enough driving time in for my permit since my parents took me on a round trip run going from Texas to California and back.
Is that a concern? I was under the impression corporate drivers are just hopped to the next open ride if their current one busts.
