@MasculineOtterMobile not drinking during a meal is something I've heard before, too. It also forces you to chew your food more thoroughly and tends to reduce intake.

I’ve gotten very used to eating raw celery, cabbage, radishes, peppers, etc. I also used to drink a TON of water while eating. I’m gaining much more weight since I stopped doing that, which is a good thing.

@ziyauren cooking destroys many of the beneficial sulfur based compounds in garlic. I still use it in cooking, but eat some raw as well.
