I'm starting over at 47. This job search crap is a lot different than when I first did it in the 90's.

It's indeed a tough market

your job does not define u... don't lose heart

Have you considered broadening your search to doing something new?

Or something you don't traditionally have experience in?

m 66 n retired n worked for myself most of my life.... most jobs r traps... sad to say

I'm living off of early withdrawals from my 401K and not having a job is getting ready to define the hell out of me

@LOGICWINS That's what I'm doing now. I can no longer physically do what I have experience in so I have to try something new

I was a truck driver.
I had a fall and got hurt as a trucker.
Having that in my work history defines me in peoples minds and I can't get away from it.

I have a small tmporary job I applied for yesterday .they were looking for students of chemistry that also knew after effects

When I'm waiting to hear about a job it destroys my motivation to look at other jobs. Now that I know about this one I can go hit some others

I know about internal and external locus of control. I've read a couple of book shelves worth of books. I just need to find a job that I can physically do.

@Drogo_Baggins Have you tried doing in person studies for cash? Plenty of companies ask questions to consumers to get an idea of what they'd like to buy. You could combine that with your job search...at least so you have a reason to leave the house

operate on objective reality w/the evidence u have... something logical, practical, pragmatic, n doable will show up....

If you spend all day at home job searching, you'll get depressed

Maybe lower the bar to find one then look for a better job while you're there as well
