As to my boomer status. This is the only one that comes close to describing me. And that's only because I got lucky by my own admission.
I'm pretty sure Eastwood was adlibbing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rcIJIWqYmo
For the whole Dirty Harry series, Eastwood was producing the films himself under Malpaso Productions
It's sad his son can't get much in the way of acting work. So little that it's impossible to tell if he's even got the chops.
Oh, and look who didn't get #metoo'd Eastwood.
Guys a national treasure.
I remember seeing the junior Eastwood in PacRim2, which really didn't give him much to work with. I think he'll come into his own. His old man didn't start off with exactly what you'd call classics either.
The "Any Which Way" series springs to mind
Isn't any which way after Dirty Hairy?
or at least the first one?
Is it? Could have sworn it was before
Dirty hairy was 71, every which way was 78
I'll be damned
But yeah, Jr. needs to find his own "Spaghetti Westerns" to star in.
Oh, he could totally be the white guy that stars in a few Chinese action movies. Like that silly great wall move that matt damon starred in.
Except you know, more hardass and serious.
I haven't seen him in any Malpaso productions I can think of. The old man probably wants him to strike out on his own to make his name like he had to.
Scratch that, he was in Flags of Our Fathers
Which was directed and produced by Eastwood
The kid has time, and he has been steadily getting himself out there more. He just really needs a project where he can be front and center.
I just hope he doesn't go all "I hate you, dad!" Hollywood liberal.
lol nahh

Apparently the white kid in this scene is played by him, which if true....
OOF
In my head the true title of Gran Torino is "Grumpy Old Man Plays a Grumpy Old Man"
That does indeed look like his son. What a fun day of filming that must have been.
"Hey pops, what's the plan for today?"
"Well, you're going to play a whigger super-cuck, and then I'm going to roll up in my truck and destroy your whole life in a sentence, sound good?"
To be fair, that sounds like it was probably tuesday growing up with him as a dad.
LIke when Jacob Dylan is practicing with his band and his dad tells him to "Stop that racket!"
and Jacobs all "Dad, we're working really hard here you just don't understand our music."
And Bob's all "No, I'm Bob Dylan, you suck."
couple of hours sack n 💪
When I saw Eastwood talking to that empty chair I felt sad.
I realised that a legend had done everything he could.
Nothing else to do but retire.
