Questions like "If I can feel as happy as this guy for one hour, but at the end of the hour there is a 99% chance I will die. Is that suicide, or just an esoteric form of really high stakes gambling?"

I do have to commend him at least for not roping anyone else into this, although to be fair, he probably didn't have as much control over that as I'm giving him credit for. he was flying awfully close to people.

if something went wrong and he crashed into the crowd who were filming him (people who were at a wedding rehearsal from what I understand) the reception of this would have been very different

and something very well could have gone wrong. that embraer was a twin-engined turbo-prop that's designed to ideally be flown by two trained pilots or one in a pinch. not some guy from the ground crew who, as far as i'm aware, had no formal flight training to speak of.
