I always just saw video games as a distraction from reality.
video games are entertainment for men, but if you don't need it, then more power to you
actually let me correct myself, if your born in the 1980's or later and you grew up with consoles/video games/computers, you are most likely a fan of them if you invested in those, and are below age 40. i would say men who don't have time or are older than 35 tend be on the plantation or didn't grow up with videogames at all, and as a result never needed it.
