2018-09-24 22:39:19 UTC

If you convert, they're fine with you.

2018-09-24 22:39:27 UTC

@machtyn ah thats what you meant

2018-09-24 22:39:32 UTC

Yeah

2018-09-24 22:39:41 UTC

Even if you don't really believe in it. just convert and they'll be cool

2018-09-24 22:39:43 UTC

No I would leave the country if I was drafted to fight a war against "Islam."

2018-09-24 22:39:48 UTC

sure ill pray to mecca if they win

2018-09-24 22:39:55 UTC

Yeah, I could care less.

2018-09-24 22:40:01 UTC

At least then the women will finally shut up

2018-09-24 22:40:02 UTC

but im not giving up my waifus

2018-09-24 22:40:06 UTC

Me neither

2018-09-24 22:40:08 UTC

come and take them bitch

2018-09-24 22:40:17 UTC

I don't have waifus. I own a Tenga and that's all I need.

2018-09-24 22:40:28 UTC

If they take our waifus that's when we go to war

2018-09-24 22:40:51 UTC

they can take our lives. but they can never take **OUR WAIFUS**

2018-09-24 22:41:06 UTC

We will nuke the heretics for trying to take our waifus

2018-09-24 22:41:56 UTC

Our god Haruhi Suzumiya will show no mercy to the waifu stealing heretics

2018-09-24 22:46:09 UTC

Do you guys see anything bad with a lifestyle where you never buy a house but instead save/invest 50%+ of your income and move around every 3 years for a new/higher-paying job?

2018-09-24 22:47:00 UTC

nothing except the fact that you'll never have a place you call home

2018-09-24 22:47:16 UTC

but people have different wants / needs so you do you

2018-09-24 22:48:02 UTC

Honestly, home doesn't mean anything to me. I enjoy wherever I live ever since emancipating myself at 16.

2018-09-24 22:48:23 UTC

It's all the same. The difference is I'll be able to have total freedom to chase better jobs or opportunities.

2018-09-24 22:48:46 UTC

hey i'm not attacking your viewpoint i'm just saying it means a lot to some people

2018-09-24 22:49:28 UTC

I'm not saying you attacked me. I agree with ya. I just have never associated with that word past indifference.

2018-09-24 22:49:55 UTC

I have a few friends who own a ton of land and have huge families.

2018-09-24 22:50:06 UTC

I like that lifestyle too, just not for me.

2018-09-24 22:57:02 UTC

Pros of renting means youre liquid, and can move easily for whatever reason you need to

2018-09-24 22:57:47 UTC

Cons of owning means you cant move as quick, and youre also locked into a mortgage that changes on the market. So potebtially you could be upside down on one

2018-09-24 22:58:18 UTC

Yeah, if I ever want to "settle down" or work "remote" in a comfy senior engineering role... I may buy.

2018-09-24 22:58:27 UTC

Correction: value of property changes with market, mortgages are fixed

2018-09-24 22:58:41 UTC

Yeah, I see what you're saying and agree.

2018-09-24 22:59:30 UTC

I hear ya. Honestly, I think renting is best if youre single. Depends on your lifestyle too

2018-09-24 22:59:52 UTC

If I had a family, house is better if I had a stable gig. If I am just a single dude always chasing that money... I see NO upside to buying unless my job is locked to a specific location like a trade. A union usually is one state or local city. In that case, I'd buy a cheap ass house and stash the cash 😉

2018-09-24 23:00:17 UTC

Or, like @ecks said... if I value a "home" and that tradition.

2018-09-24 23:00:48 UTC

Even if I worked remote as an engineer.. I'd still probably rent because usually cities have MUCH faster internet.

2018-09-24 23:01:14 UTC

Plus, if I worked remote, I could sell my car and bike/walk to any destination depending on city (using Chicago as example).

2018-09-24 23:01:47 UTC

@KenneticEnergy I guess if I had a lot of stuff and toys, buying would be better too to store it all...

2018-09-24 23:04:07 UTC

Yeah, I mean I might buy a small house if its just me and my job is locked into one place

2018-09-24 23:04:21 UTC

I like the idea of being king of my own castle lol

2018-09-24 23:05:00 UTC

Yeah, that's true. I guess if I find a job I actually like more than 3 years... I'd buy a house. I think I still don't know what "niche" within technology I like enough so I keep exploring.
