But if that is someone's goal then who are you to tell them to do something else?
Well, I like learning new shit for the sake of learning new shit, I just want to know stuff, it doesn't improve me but it fulfills me.
Again what are you getting at?
I thought the context was the fundamental tenants of mgtow and how self improvement has anything to do with it.
I smell nihilism
I would agree that acquiring skills that are never to be used isn't exactly improvement, but it may be fulfilment
@KD but if learning knowledge that you will never use takes away from time you would be doing something self destructive then it is a positive, it's a personal thing
Okay well here's MY definition of self improvement
Are you making changes that improve your Quality of Life
if yes? You are improving your condition
Are you making changes that improve your physical health, your mental health, etc.? Yes? You are improving your condition
I see MGTOW more as a rally point, or a lighthouse. It's a light that attracts the attention of men and warns the of the dangerous rocks that is feminism. This light attracts all different types of men, all logical trying to figure out what the issue is. And a lot of men will blame themselves thinking they need to self improve or self actualize.
@KD so if a guy stops banging H to level up his WOW character I will call it an improvement
That is not true
KD
Just because something works well does not mean it cannot be improved
@KingGiraffasauragreed not true
Are you saying that people should just be honest about having issues?
Hmm🤔
Okay so then what is one to do KD?
Games as just another diversion
You sound like the feminists who excuse people being fat
@KingGiraffasaur exactly sounds like incel talk to me now
and that *some* hide behind "self improvemint" to mask those issues?
I mean people with issues would be honest with themselves and want to improve themselves.
And to be entirely honest, if you find flaws in yourself, fix them
Same reason why fat people go to the gym.
So what's the issue?
I find flaws in myself so I work to fix them
How is that negative?
*Denial*
That's a fundamental part of the human existence
^
And if people do act on it IRL?
@KingGiraffasaur this may be a waste of time
And not simply something that is being discussed?
Talking about self improvement as a motivational thing though, what's wrong with that?
I believe where KD is coming from is that if you fundamentally believe that something is wrong with you, that there is something holding you back some trauma or self doubt, that you'll never realize that there isn't anything actually wrong with you and that thing your trying to "improve" on is just holding you back because you believe there is something that needs to be fixed. Correct me if im wrong
nothing but i dont think thats the issue @KingGiraffasaur
