I've been going through some old accounts I talked to peopel from MGTOW.co on, this is some advice a guy on MGTOW.co gave a couple of years ago regarding financial indepence, y'all might find this useful:

Buy a fixer upper, rent out rooms to your buddies, build a good credit score, rinse and repeat.

I now own four rentals. I already have a positive cash flow, but all four will be paid off within
five years. Imagine what my life will be like then.

Since you don't have a wife nagging you to buy her perfect dream house, you can buy in any neighborhood
you can afford.
Picking a neighborhood for a group of young men is a lot different from selecting one that
is safe for your four-year old daughter.
Remember to buy the cheapest house in the nicest neighborhood you can afford.

Most renters do not have enough money to make a down payment. There are many ways to buy a house without a down payment.
In fact, the Federal Government has several programs. The USDA program is probably the best.

There is a long waiting list of people wanting Section 8 housing, so you can pick and choose your tenant, and if someone moves out, you can easily find a new tenant.

If you are not skilled with your hands, you can barter work for rent.
Some trades are very seasonal, so you can rent to skilled tradesmen, and barter with them during their slow time.
This is the time that it is hardest for them to pay their rent and when they have the most free time"
