But women would die out though, if they are replaced by artificial wombs and sex dolls they will just die out?

2019-01-08 02:57:38 UTC

we wouldn't want this to become the evolutionary filter for intelligent species n cause a fermi paradox result

2019-01-08 02:58:18 UTC

How so, wouldn’t replacing women prevent a Fermi paradox?

2019-01-08 02:58:36 UTC

even with artificial wombs the maintanance of surrogate mothers would block their extinction n give them value

2019-01-08 02:59:26 UTC

I believe I read somewhere that sperm can be repurposed into an egg of sorts though

2019-01-08 02:59:31 UTC

it might prevent it but we can't know and it would limit our options which is a bad thing evolutionarily

2019-01-08 02:59:42 UTC

I mean we've been going through this cycle for thousands of years and multiple civs. At some point you gotta acknowledge it's us as people (our DNA), from a macro perspective, and not something that can be altered at any other level.

2019-01-08 03:00:18 UTC

I don’t remember the source I’d have to look for it

2019-01-08 03:00:24 UTC

can't throw the baby out w//the bath water... a very bad idea

2019-01-08 03:00:50 UTC

Because it's worked so far? Never has so far, as we can glance from the historical record.

2019-01-08 03:00:55 UTC

and technically its not actually broken jus improperly used

2019-01-08 03:01:08 UTC

True

2019-01-08 03:01:39 UTC

if it couldn't work n some way no new civs would have been produced

2019-01-08 03:02:01 UTC

we would have bbeen sterile from the get

2019-01-08 03:02:37 UTC

@ziyauren But that's the point, we're not sterile, but we haven't escaped the cycle either, not even once as a species.

2019-01-08 03:02:58 UTC

the prob is not the species but the cycle

2019-01-08 03:03:24 UTC

But all the species has demonstrated is the cycle, nothing else.

2019-01-08 03:04:03 UTC

we have proven all through our existance that we can modify our environments to prosper.... that is our strength and the solution

2019-01-08 03:05:03 UTC

it won't b easy but that has never stopped us b4... lets not give rise to stagnation

2019-01-08 03:05:28 UTC

stagnation is a proven species kkiller

2019-01-08 03:05:40 UTC

@ziyauren We can modify our environment sure, we always have. In fact every civ has improved all kinds of things. But every civ has encountered that same majority of individuals whom eventually caused its downfall.

2019-01-08 03:06:09 UTC

read what i jus said😉

2019-01-08 03:06:58 UTC

I just want losers to die honestly

2019-01-08 03:07:10 UTC

I’m getting a bit heated in my head

2019-01-08 03:07:28 UTC

DNA alteration isn't stagnation, it's escaping the cycle imo. Why would you think after so many failed cycles, things will change significantly at any time.

2019-01-08 03:08:17 UTC

I think i really need to find that old manuscript n redo that book... n the right environment losers would die honestly,,, but we need to create n control that environment as we always have🤔

2019-01-08 03:09:35 UTC

i'm not saying no to dna mods... jus sayin the elimination of half the species is not the answer

2019-01-08 03:10:27 UTC

dna mods r a supplement.... not the cure

2019-01-08 03:12:23 UTC

also dna mods r not modifying the environment.... they r fundamentally changing us

2019-01-08 03:12:58 UTC

@ziyauren I agree. Well, when I say DNA alterations and how we change it and in which specific way, that's a diff discussion. Could have to do with making everyone "equal", could have to do with altering it in such a way "losers" won't exist. That's a whole different discussion. I'm just saying without altering it in any way that we, as a species, won't escape the cycle, if we take history as a barometer.

2019-01-08 03:14:34 UTC

even if u r right everyone will never be equal.... at the very least we need what i'm talking about to make that transition even possible...

2019-01-08 03:17:39 UTC

@ziyauren True, theoretically we could alter DNA in such a way people would be more close together, in such a way that the phenotypes won't have as many deviations in the DNA so that we won't have as many "losers" in the future. The only reason they collapse civs is because there are too many of them. So if we can reduce the deviations in the DNA to make people "more equal", we have a bigger chance we won't have the same outcome as previous civs.

2019-01-08 03:18:05 UTC

btw... history doesn't repeat itself... it only rhymes😉

2019-01-08 03:18:43 UTC

Well it repeats itself in the sense civs collapse. Every one has so far.

2019-01-08 03:19:27 UTC

i gottaa get a drink n m tired of typin so go to voice pls... m njoyiin the convo but its gettin late n i need to stop typin...lol

2019-01-08 03:20:19 UTC

@ziyauren I actually need to go as well. Was a very good conversation though. We should continue it sometime. Thanks.

2019-01-08 03:20:52 UTC

lets do voice next time,,, this laptop is a pain n the butt..lol

2019-01-08 03:21:01 UTC
