I had a Japanese guy online tell me he wishes he had my accent and I was like "I don't have one"
It's all about self respect Ginger
@ToastMcGhostim not a huge believer in therapy but I know it's the right thing for some ppl, I'm happy to hear it helped
Yeah, i think it's safe to say that the persons mentioned had little self-respect.
the 1st and most important advantage to therapy is that you accept you have a problem 😃
I always tell people if it wasn't for meds or therapy I wouldn't be here. Then they still tell me meds and therapy are stupid. I'm used to it
Yeah i agree it doesn't work for a lot of people. Especially men with how the system caters to females and childrens way of thinking and doing things.
You have to be 100% honest with them and can't hold anything back or you're wasting their time and yours
@GingerSnaps Similar situation. He really only gives me advice I already know. But I can't leave him as I'm still under my parents and they think that it's helping. Honest I've done more to help myself talking with this "Misogynistic" group or whatever my parents called it and spending hours by myself mentally pulling myself apart to find what actually is causing all these problems.
I'm anti big pharma but my meds help me. I'm a man of many contradictions. Maybe i should work on that. lol
@Gaarak I agree I think the most constructive part is actually speaking about your issues out loud it puts them in a more accessible place for you to understand and then do something
I never had any luck with therapists, they always tried to put me on meds that I didn't need
We all lie, even to our selves, it s hard to be 100% honest with that 'fact'
im normally honest with myself just not many other people
@Phosis T'Kar sounds like you had a bad therapist. Mine would never force me on something I say no to
Most therapist will just give you pills, but either they will work or your going to truly understand what the song "Comfortably Numb" was about.
I did, absolutely there are good therapists out there, I just haven't dealt with any yet
You might be confusing therapists and psychiatrists. Therapists don't give meds
That was directed toward Eagle but it still stands
Pills sell man
I know the difference. But a Therapist has to sign you off to the psychiatrist at least in my state.
ahh, well I suspect I am, either way they tried to prescribe me ADHD meds after one session where they did most of the talking
Yeah that's a shitty therapist
people want lazy band aid solutions to problems, so pills numb you down so that you don't hurt
yup
exactly, and those pills cause long term damage after a while. I'm lucky I got off them after a year.
I think mental illness can be managed and a lot of them can be solved by putting in a ton of work and effort in fixing shit
@EmptyEagle I totally hear you about your parents calling mgtow a misogynistic group. My certified peer support specialist jokingly calls it the he man woman haters group or whatever that club from the little rascals is called. It kind of irks me because it's like she can't be bothered to understand where i'm coming from and how mgtow helps me simply because we're red-pilled to a lot of life but especially female nature. We don't simp for them so she has issues with it it's like. And i think it's a little unprofessional of her.
@Sigma I'd be inclined to agree with you but I have schizoaffective disorder and without meds I dissociate and hallucinate
you get addicted to pills and you have to depend on them. you don't take those pills you can't function
@ToastMcGhost I got diagnosed with that shit a few years back too
But they could have done a better job
Do you dissociate and hallucinate?
@GingerSnaps if you do not have a shrine to pussay it automatically means you hate it with a passion
uhh, My brain operates in a different reality and i go delusional. No hallucinations
i may have a more mild case
so i can somewhat function normally
@ToastMcGhost As much as the pills helping you is a good thing, it's imo very important to try and find a way to do without it, keep looking
some people genuinely need pills
not everyone's brain is wired the same
CBT may be worth looking into. Exercise and physical activity makes me feel school
