i should say they do not use violence
This isn't Judge Dredd
Or intimidation
so if theyre unarmed and clearly marked as police with no more authority than ordinary citizen, and only report what could be potentially criminal activity are they ok?
if i see that my neighbors house has someone i do not know walking around the back, im going to approach him, stop him, and ask what he is doing
marked as "mot" police
not
Sure, it's up to you. @Brue
now i get a team together in my community, and we do that on a larger scale
when does it become unethical for you
3 people?
6
10?
when they break the law
When they pretend to have police powers and start intimidating people
I don't care how many. It's the actions they take
some people would say that the man holding the walrus tusk at the london bridge this weekend intimidated the suspect before police got there, and i say, good on them
intimidation is relative
im sure the feminist who sits in her bubble when told about something outside of it is intimidated
should we never approach anyone for fear of intimidating them @SuperHeroDeluxe ?
it pays well
@Frost509 its true, i think superhero would probably side with them according to his logic
its relative as can be
-----
i am fairly certain if the man who was looking into my neighbors house heard me say that what he was doing was fishy and if he does not explain himself and have a good reason to do what he was doing i will report this to the police, he will be intimidated
-------
i ask these `what about` questions because it helps identify logical inconstancies @SuperHeroDeluxe
Does it? Or does it just more likely explore the edges of a linguistic model?
it does bolth, though I don't know what this conversation was about.
It can do both, yes
it's important to know how a system is going to deal with the edge cases.
Sure
It CAN be important
@Brue. What I mean by a form of intimidation for example is implying that the person has police/detective powers (I'm catching up, I was gone for a bit)
Pretending to be actual law enforcement is a criminal act.
For good reasons.
Handmaid's Tale is written by a 3rd wave feminist who thinks Christianity oppresses women but, forgets that Islam exists.
I had to do a book report on it in school. I knew what they wanted to hear so I got an A
The teacher didn't want that but we both knew what was up.
